I'm the dream, the seed that refuse to die. Through dust & doubt I rise, carrying tomorrow in my roots. Darkness tried to hold me, but light kept calling.

I once had a full-time job… chasing a girl who never even advertised the vacancy. For two solid years, I was out there submitting applications, doing overtime, bringing premium effort, while she kept me on a permanent “we’ll get back to you.” No yes. No no. Just vibes and a dangerous amount of hope for a whole solid two years. Eventually I scheduled my own final interview. Cornered her like HR on a deadline and said, “Be honest, am I hired or what?” She looked me dead in the eye with a tantalizing smile and said, “You don’t have a sweet tongue.” That was the day it clicked. I wasn’t the candidate. I was the unpaid intern.😀😀 But here’s where it gets strange………… I never really stopped thinking about her. Every now and then, she’d show up in my dreams, usually going through a rough time, reaching out like life had finally put her on hold instead of me. At some point I was worried my wife would hear calling out her name in my dream😂🤷🏽‍♂️ Fast forward years later, I’m back in Zim, and something in me says, go find her. So I did. Tracked her down through an old school contact. Ended up in Nketa, where she was living with her kids. We sat down, and I finally asked the question that had been pending for years: “Two years I chased you, why didn’t you ever like me back?” This time, the answer was softer. “Ngangimncane, ngangikakwazi.” (I was young, I didn’t know any better.) I changed the subject immediately to avoid funny emotions creeping in😀😀 She opened up about everything that had happened since. Rough relationships, a failed marriage, three kids, life doing what life does. I just listened. Felt the weight of it. Gave her a hug, left a small $US gift, and said my goodbyes. And strangely, that was it. That two-year rejection finally closed. Years later, in a moment I didn’t even plan. It’s been 14 years since that meeting, and not once has she shown up in my dreams again. Now I’m here wondering…….. has anyone else ever experienced something like that? Or did my subconscious just finally clock out of its unpaid internship? 😄🤷🏽‍♂️ Am I the only one or we are many?

@TheLifeZoomer My Mhofu pride took a blow. I couldn’t understand how she could two-time me with someone I considered beneath me. I never forgave her; I simply walked away. Years later, when Facebook came along, a friend request from her came. That alone was enough to make me leave Facebook

@TheLifeZoomer It was my 1st love, I believed it was mutual only to find she was two timing me. I was just a backup, in case things didn’t work out with the other guy. I was 18, she was 16. I was the smart one, organised and too innocent. The other guy was 19 and in the mbanje class.

I just received the sad news that Gogo Jane Gowo has passed on. We visited her last year in Zvimba and recorded a very informative program. Gogo Jane Gowo was a former ZAPU Central Committee member. Alongside her late husband, Jack Musokeri Gowo, they played a critical role in the armed struggle. She mobilised for ZAPU, recruited members, and her husband moved weapons to the frontlines. Both were imprisoned by the Rhodesian regime for their efforts. Condolences to the family. May her soul rest in peace. youtu.be/vAOv4-P6qug?si….

@mommy_moneyza @missmooi_moi @barrybateman This is Africa. Families of rulers are well treated, even beyond their own borders. The current legal systems often apply only to those outside the ruling elite. Example here in Zim, I bet that Samora Machel or Mandela's children will never see the inside of a jail no matter what

This is not true. Mugabe was not convicted of anything related to a Hydepark shooting or pointing a firearm, and I don't understand why this is being so widely reported as being the case. Mugabe pleaded guilty to pointing a fake gun [s120(6)(b) of the FCA] at Brian Nguvayashe on 11 Feb, a week before the 19 Feb shooting of Sipho Mahlangu. He was NOT convicted in connection with the 19 Feb shooting of the gardener at the Hydepark property. This, despite the IO testifying that Mugabe was present when Matonhodze shot Mahlangu, and the claim that Mugabe knew where the fiream was. Why has the NPA not been asked to explain how Mugabe escaped accountability on the 19 Feb attempted murder? Why did the State accept a plea that offered no facts about the circumstances that led to the shooting? What is the State's view on an accused person's legal team approaching complainants without the IO's knowledge with offers of compensation that results in attempts to withdraw a case? Why was the 11 Feb case involving Brian Nguvayashe joined with the 19 Feb case of Sipho Mahlangu? Separate incidents, different complainants, different accused - make it make sense.

@wemalevels @barrybateman Do you really believe that Robert Mugabe’s son could be imprisoned anywhere in Africa? Even after his death, Mugabe remains widely revered across the continent, & it’s hard to imagine any African country jailing his offspring, no matter how wayward they might be. This is Africa.

@Bulawayo24News “Chisingaperi chinoshura”. Nothing lasts forever in its original state, be it looks, power, success, hardship, or even a situation that seems stable. Over time, things either come to an end or transform, often in unexpected ways. Teach us to always stay humble.

@ubekim @TendaiChirau @KMarazanye @matigary. The Mhofu clan bore the brunt of the 1890s wars. Nehanda was a daughter of the Mhofu, & Chiwashira Muchecheterwa—a brave Mhofu—was also beheaded, along with many others from the clan. Truly, one could argue that a Mhofu deserves to sit on the throne.

On this day, 28 April 1898, two brave Zimbabweans were hanged to death by the minority settler regime, fronted by the owners of the British South Africa Company, for radically resisting colonialism. The two spirit mediums, Mbuya Charwe (spirit medium of Nehanda) and Sekuru Gumboreshumba (Kaguvi/Murenga), remain important and sacrosanct figures of our nation's history. The prophetic words by Nehanda, "Mapfupa angu achamuka," came true when the brave sons and daughters of the soil successfully dismantled colonialism in the late 1970s. Lest we forget!
