So Alex and I moved into our new house in November. The house is awesome and its out in the country which we love. We are in a neighborhood but you cant win em all 🤷
Well, the new young neighbors across the street are apparently very devoted fans of music with LOTS of bass and they are clearly tech savvy cause their speakers can be heard from 3 miles away. They also must have many wealthy friends because 17 cars with really expensive looking rims line the street outside their house every night that they throw large get togethers.....at all hours of the night during the work week.
This is all good and fine except its annoying as F*CK hearing that at 2am on a Tuesday and we have little kids who are trying to sleep!
We are in the country so noise ordnance is not a thing....need some advice on how to address this without ending up on the news or in an altercation.
Anyone got some advice? Please and thank you.

@Stellaaa @HustleBitch_ Is there a word for all of these organizations that can’t see the forest for the trees? Are they actually this daft, or is it deliberate, or a combination of both?
English

@HustleBitch_ I’m old enough to remember an untested mystery mRNA therapeutic everyone wanted to chuck people in concentration camps for questioning a few years back
After that cancers and “sudden deaths” amongst otherwise young and healthy people skyrocketed
English

🚨 “WHAT THE F*CK IS GOING ON?” — KATIE COURIC WARNS 17 CANCERS ARE SKYROCKETING… AND NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN WHY
Katie Couric says doctors are now seeing something they can’t ignore:
• A 21-year-old with stage 4 colorectal cancer — no family history
• Patients in their 20s, 30s, 40s being diagnosed late… already metastatic
• 17 different cancers increasing among people under 50
And even specialists are struggling to explain it.
Possible factors being discussed:
• Ultra-processed food
• Microplastics + “forever chemicals”
• Antibiotic overuse
• Environmental exposure
Couric: “It’s not just lifestyle… something is going on.”
And the most unsettling part?
Many cases are being caught too late.
So what changed?
What do you think is actually behind this spike?

@Jennings18Karl @AdamPollock Ah, I see. Actually, I’m on another continent, but if I could pluck up that house and relocate it to the Hudson Valley, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
English

@Truth5112 @AdamPollock ...then your town is 20kms inland, & is 25 metres above sea-level on a ridge road, nowhere near karst turlough terrain, nor a ragjng Irish Sea in mid-winter, with 4 metre high waves coming over a sea-wall. Which is what Carrickfergus's problem is, among others.
English

@FalconryFinance *SPOILER*
If the pig was in the wagon, why not wheel it off the yard before slitting its throat?
English

@LastLogicBender @RealCandaceO I mean, he’s right about her voice. I had to stop listening, too…

No Slack message.
No “network issue.”
No dramatic excuse.
At 4:18 PM, HR finally texted.
Gen Z replied and said,
“I realized this isn’t aligned with what I’m looking for.”
Boss just stared at the phone.
- No shouting.
- No argument.
- Just a decision.
That’s when the team realized something.
When people say “Gen Z lacks commitment,”
what they really mean is:
Gen Z doesn’t stay to be convinced, pressured, or guilted into a bad deal.
They listen carefully.
They test the reality.
And when it doesn’t match the promise, they leave.
Not after months.
Not after burnout.
After lunch.
It’s not disrespect. It’s efficiency.
And honestly, after everything the old generation normalized…
Can you really blame them?

@SecDuffy @HillWithView @USDOT Sadly, Hochul will only take pleasure in costing New Yorkers more money in car repairs due to potholes and disrepair, which is already the worst I’ve seen in decades.
English

🚨I’m pulling $73 MILLION in federal highway grants from New York until the state follows OUR RULES and makes sure foreign truckers are VETTED and QUALIFIED 🚨
@USDOT will not fund Governor Hochul’s dangerous anti-American policies. Full stop.

As a NY native with a regents diploma, I agree it should be ended. Many students like myself who were strongest in the arts ended up shooting ourselves in the foot when it came time to apply to colleges because our GPAs were dragged down by lower math and science grades. We were told we should take regents classes, never realizing it was only a CA and NY requirement and could actually end up damaging our shot at getting into our choice colleges. We shouldn’t put our students in identical boxes. This is where schools end up demoralizing kids. Nurture each child’s strengths; don’t force them all to learn trigonometry if their passion is painting.
English

@HustleBitch_ Maybe because when you have as much money as he has, and you can buy anything, costs and labels don’t matter anymore. He doesn’t need to prove status. Everyone knows.
English

You have no idea what incentives are, do you? Maybe look at what DeSantis has been doing and rather than pushing out the remaining affluent citizens of New York, you’ll actually attract some new residents.
But you won’t because you love to punish all New Yorkers.
You behave just like a sadist.
English

If you can afford a multi-million dollar second home in New York City, you can afford to join its residents in supporting the greatest city in the world.

Hi Honey Pot,
After buying your products for many years, I’ve actually just read one of your packages, which refers to women as, “humans with vaginas”. I find this avoidance of the word woman unforgivable. Why is it that men who cosplay women ARE women, but ACTUAL women are humans with vaginas? What an insult to women. I’m finding a new brand.

I completely disagree. My kids went through this nonsense math teaching and they both now struggle as adults. I can instantly do simple multiplication in my head because we had drills in school, pretty much every day in third grade. The information was hammered in and is now hard wired. My kids were using their fingers in fourth grade, like that was some kind of advancement?
Old school methods worked. He is right for confronting the teacher.
English

@HustleBitch_ @treadaway_117 I understand his frustration but the test said show your work.
That is to show you know the process to do it as it was taught.
She did not learn the process so she failed.
Wait until she gets to Algebra and Statistics and other advanced math where the process matters.

🚨 DAD TEACHES HIS DAUGHTER MATH — SCHOOL FAILS HER FOR GETTING THE RIGHT ANSWER
A 4th grader was struggling so bad with multiplication she was coming home crying.
The school had her breaking numbers into boxes and doing confusing cross maneuvers she couldn’t grasp.
Her dad stepped in and taught her the way he learned.
It clicked instantly.
Test day came and she only missed TWO questions.
Should’ve been a 92%.
She got a 50%.
Why?
Because she didn’t use the box method.
She got the answers right but they were marked wrong anyway.
Her dad went to the school and pushed back, the principal admitted there’s more than one way to solve it.
Grade got fixed.
But now his wife says he went too far.
If the answer is right, does the method even matter?

@DonnaHeatley79 @emlindy @nickimoraa I admit I find smoke and perfume a horrible combination. Also, when people go outside in the rain and smoke…it’s like a damp, foul smell clings to them.
English

@Truth5112 @emlindy @nickimoraa Or worse when they’re re trying 2 mask the scent of cigarettes with perfume. I had a colleague who would bathe in perfume in the morning. Chain smoke through her lunch break & then would bathe in her perfume afterwards 2 try & mask the smell. It would my headache!and I felt 🤢!
English

@emlindy @nickimoraa I completely disagree. If your odor in the workplace is making others around you ill (as many perfumes and colognes make me), it’s no different that cigarette smoke. Keep it outside on your own time.
English

@nickimoraa No.
I have debilitating migraines that can trigger instantly, without warning, and for a variety of reasons, sometimes I don't even know the cause.
Scent is a huge trigger. I hate it. Its awful.
But that does not give anyone the authority to tell someone they can't.

@JakeCan72 Interesting how they cue the laughter when @KTHopkins gets a little too real…

The Daily Show went to Culdesac Tempe, Arizona — America’s first car-free neighborhood.
Culdesac CEO Ryan Johnson said it on the record:
Decades of U.S. zoning policy have made walkable neighborhoods nearly impossible to build nationwide.
The infrastructure exists. The funding exists. The zoning is catching up.
Either the resistance is working, or the rollout is just getting started.
English

Very well said and I completely agree. This is your journey, so do what is right FOR YOU. Trust will take a very long time to rebuild if you do choose that path, but with patience, forgiveness and strict boundaries until an honest relationship has been re-established, it is possible to heal. The friend must go, imho.
English

Unfortunately a story told repeatedly through the ages. Decide what works for YOU when YOU are ready to decide.
- Some women choose to live with a wandering husband … I don’t judge.
- Some kick them to the curb and move on … I don’t judge.
- Some women choose an open marriage … I don’t judge.
The key is to look at your internal compass, morals & values. Choose what maintains your internal integrity. On your own terms & your own timeline. Best wishes to you on the rest of your journey.
