The PowerPuff Girls once flew so fast (they raced home from school) that they traveled 50 years into the future (Flash level feat)
They nullified a solar fair
Buttercup lifted Mount Everest
They flew through the Earth’s core meaning they could do exactly what Mark, Nolan and Thaedus did
They also have MANY other special abilities and would mop the floor with Thragg and the Viltrumites
Teslimat@Teslimatttt
There's this weird debate on TikTok about Thragg vs PowerPuff Girls, and people are saying they'd solo the entire invincible universe... There's no way they're that strong.
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin that would personally affect characters or the world they live in. The super dragon balls also add to this making the entire goal of the ToP worthless (erasing weak universes). Its a problem the show has and its common knowledge i think.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Vegeta is shunned by the Z fighters. None of them get along with him and bring up his past often. Goku is the only person that could actively exile Vegeta from anything, but his character has always been overly trusting.
These aren’t consequences that change or mean anything.
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Real consequences would be bulma not getting hooking up with vegita, vegita being actively shunned by the z fighters, him being exiled from earth, or at the very least goku not trusting vegita to do anything on his own. Death isnt a consequence AGAIN because of balls
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin I think you either have a weird definition of consequences or you need to rewatch the show in order to see what they are. Because they absolutely have consequence.
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin My entire point is dbz (and now db) dont have any real consequences to their characters. Its low stakes until buu saga, but then even that gets undone.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Regret and change isn’t a big enough consequence? What’s the point of consequences at all then?
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin what is that consequence, if its regret then its not enough, if its getting beat up then eating a senzu bean after then its not enough. No one loses anything other than time wasted because the big balls does it all(s). Dbz does not have lasting consequences
English

@ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Why would doing the things you suggested make it worse?
English

@TryLikeMe @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin i haven’t seen db in years so assuming your right, that just makes the ip worse off than i thought
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Neither of you are being very clear what your point is. You liked DB more because of the adventure aspect? Okay, that’s fine, I enjoy it a lot too. There’s no real way to use the dragon balls as a negative in one series when they exist in both, imo. The stakes are the same.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin You’re conflating lasting consequences with death, is all. There’s consequences in their characters because of what they did. It’s a writing choice.
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin its the scale then, because again they are absolutely ABUSED in dbz. Leaving no room for lasting consequences
English

@ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin But they did all the things you said, just later in the series.
English

@TryLikeMe @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin my guy your asked what i think earning it would entail. I was giving examples of how early they couldve started this character development.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Bulma younger wish is the same concept of the panties wish in DB. The Dragon Balls reversed multiple deaths in DB, so is the complaint the scale? The stakes are the same in either.
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin its the amount of times their using the balls. Hell its a running gag that bulma uses them to make herself younger, goku used them to make new namek, multiple times they reversed every death on earth. They did not use them like that in db
English

@ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin You’re using the Cell saga and that doesn’t make sense because Vegeta’s character change doesn’t really start until the end of the Cell saga and then he struggled with it during the Buu saga. His change is end of Buu saga into Super.
English

@TryLikeMe @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin during the cell saga, maybe if showed actual annoyance with semi cell wiping out a bunch of islands instead of completely disregarding it, that could show signs of vulnerability towards the planet. Maybe not the ppl on it but the idea that its his new home.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin So the time taken to collect the Dragon Balls is the complaint?
English

@Games2Grackle @TryLikeMe @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin a little less aggressive but yeah, the dragon balls were the end goal, not a thing you could just spend a day to go get to fix everything.
English

@Games2Grackle @ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin The collection of the Dragon Balls was not the “whole quest” in the first series.
You can prefer DB to DBZ, I don’t care, that doesn’t change the fact that using their existence against DBZ makes no sense when they’re used the same way in DB.
English

@TryLikeMe @ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Given your username, I know you're only gonna 'try' to focus on dumb, myopic, surface level shit in the argument. But the collection of the dragon balls was the whole quest in the first series, and people died while fighting to take them. It was a martial arts Spaghetti western.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin What? DB has the Dragon Balls as well, and wishes people back. There’s no difference in stakes there. I wasn’t talking about the future timeline.
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin nope, it might not have been by much for db but it was more. The future literally forces dbz timeline to help them so yeah, all of that couldve been solved easily.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin What would be earning it in your mind?
The consequences are there. In this case, it led to Vegeta’s dramatic character change. The consequences are placed upon the characters themselves, not random people. There are other examples of this.
English

@TryLikeMe @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin im saying its not earned. Him defending earth was out of convenience at best before buu saga, there are no serious consequences because in the world of dbz, dragon balls fix almost everything “mistake” they make. Therefore vegita doesnt have any lasting consequences
English

@TryLikeMe @Games2Grackle @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin exactly, db and the future had more stakes than dbz, but thats not a good thing for dbz. If anything it shows how weaker the writing is. BUT i still love dbz, its a common opinion for fans to have.
English

@Games2Grackle @ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Well, there’s “no stakes” because they always win. If they lose, they can’t use the Dragon Balls. Those stakes are shown in Trunks’ timeline.
And the stakes were the same in DB.
English

@TryLikeMe @ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin Yeah, for a show with 'Balls' in the title, the story is surprisingly devoid of them. No real stakes, no lasting consequences. I liked it more when it was just Journey to the West.
English

@ProxxytheZombie @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin It just shows the consequences differently than permanent death. There were absolutely consequences from those actions.
And it sounds like you’re saying something more along the lines of they shouldn’t get chances of redemption.
English

@TryLikeMe @KingsNJenssons @_greywithin that literally reinforces my point that dbz does not care about consequences, he can regret all he wants but he still did it and came back fine and dandy. Also, just incase, i think nolan got off REALLY easy for what he did and i still hate that.
