This requires help from a centralized, non-onion server due to Apple's limitations. But our user research says that, to reach the users we want to reach, things need to "just work". So that's what we've got to do! And pure p2p messaging will still work, even on iOS!

Also, a long overdue update: we're hard at work making Quiet work well on iOS by letting people add an optional server to their community. This is our lives these days!

We fixed a security issue in the last release where other applications or users running on your device had a theoretical way to access Quiet accounts. We aren't sure an attack was practical but it's fixed now. More info here! github.com/TryQuiet/quiet…

@LegendGonna No. Our user research pushed us away from building an anonymous inbox and towards a private alternative to Slack. Once we made that shift, Zcash wasn't an appropriate stack. But privacy matters for money too, and Zcash is awesome!

Messenger adds end-to-end encryption ~10 years after Signal proved it practical. Will Messenger be peer-to-peer, ~10 years after Quiet proves it practical?

@somecanuckchick Oh no, missed this! That should be fixed now. Can you confirm? (Apple will periodically update their Terms of Service with nary an email about it, and then invalidate Gatekeeper certificates until we click "accept" on their new terms! 😤)
