Meanwhile, in Germany, you arrive late at the Düsseldorf Airport and are forced to take a cab at the front of the line (It's not allowed to pick a driver you want). Bad luck. The car is dirty and old, the driver barely speaks your language, and he's driving the cab for his brother, who is ill. He doesn't know the destination and tries to use an outdated Navi on this old Diesel Mercedes - which doesn't work - trying to help with Google Maps. He can't find the direction and, after 15 minutes of driving around, ends up on a large parking lot with no exit in the middle of the night. At the final destination, we pay 112 € (usually ~80 Euro), and the driver does not like that we pay by card and prefers cash! Thanks for this wonderful experience after a long flight; you have the best drivers at Taxi-Verband Deutschland! 🤬

Liberal Tesla owner and package thief shared this post: Well congrats to whoever left that little “bait package” sitting on the porch like it was some kind of trap You absolutely destroyed the inside of my Tesla and ruined my entire day. I walked by, saw an Amazon package sitting there unattended, and tossed it into my backseat thinking it was just a normal delivery box. Huge mistake. The second I made a turn, the thing tipped over and EXPLODED everywhere. Glue. Confetti. Sticky junk all over my seats, carpet, doors… literally the entire interior My Tesla now looks like a kindergarten art project detonated in the backseat. And before people start with the “well maybe don’t take packages” comments — setting up booby-trap packages is insane behavior too Who fills a fake box with glue and leaves it outside waiting for somebody to grab it?? That’s not “justice.” That’s intentionally creating a mess and potentially damaging somebody’s property for entertainment. I’m genuinely debating filing a police report because this whole thing is ridiculous. And honestly? I don’t even care that it technically wasn’t my package. You can’t set traps like that and then act shocked when something goes wrong Well congrats to whoever left that little “bait package” sitting on the porch like it was some kind of trap You absolutely destroyed the inside of my Tesla and ruined my entire day.. (Not my post. Just shared.) Credit to original owner/poster.

@boris_beissner Warum sind 800v Autos dann durch die Bank schwerer als 400v? Miserable Integration?

#Eauto

@europemaxxed FYI for my European friends: Walking on Interstate highways (and most limited access highways) is dangerous and illegal in America. Vehicles are travelling at high speeds and drivers are not anticipating needing to react to people on the roadway.

@TheChrisWright @wholemars It's just an assumption you make from a piece of tech spec. It could be as well mean the signal can be faster established and less constant activity required as the current ratio on star link mini is also 10:1

@wholemars It would be silly to include lower tx duty cycle as an improvement if in reality it’s simply sacrificing upload performance. If it was made to be more efficient then it implies they can reliably achieve a higher uplink modulation. Either way, downlink airtime improves by proxy.

C# is full of unbelievable gems. HasValue is a property of Nullable<T>; you can't call it on a non-nullable variable. Gives an error: Guid test = Guid.NewGuid(); bool testHasValue = test.HasValue; Compile: Guid? test = Guid.NewGuid(); bool testHasValue = test.HasValue;

Once we have completed our review for security vulnerabilities, we will make the entire codebase of 𝕏 open source, with no exceptions. Moreover, we will invite third party reviewers to examine the system that is running to confirm that the open source code is what is running. Trust through total transparency is the only thing that should be believed.

Anyone can put a tablet in the middle of a dashboard. Tesla spent over a decade making it feel like it belonged there. Too many automakers copied the look before they mastered the experience. A screen should make the car simpler… not become another obstacle.

@niccruzpatane @Tesla Why does no one remember the Pontiac Fireo, Trasport MiniVan or the original Saturns? They all had plastic molded body panels. Yes, the CyberCab is amazing but the Corvette was fiberglass around 50 years ago.

The @Tesla Cybercab uses lightweight Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) body panels which enables: • Manufacturing cycle times go from hours using a traditional paint shop, to minutes since the color is injected during the molding process. • Supply chain and manufacturing Green House Gas emissions are cut by 35% for those parts. • 100% elimination of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from painting. Usually a conventional car’s body panels are stamped, painted, and processed through a paint shop (see video). Cybercab’s manufacturing process doesn’t need any of that. The material science that’s going on at Tesla is simply incredible.

This is insane. A New Jersey bill proposed (A3968) would require any driverless robotaxi to be equipped with cameras plus two additional distinct sensor types capable of detecting obstacles even if cameras fail (LiDAR, Radar). This bill wouldn’t allow Tesla to operate in the state since they use a camera-only approach. The requirements from the bill are: • 50,000 supervised miles with operators • Triple-sensor hardware before any robotaxi goes fully driverless. Sen. Andrew Zwicker: "At this point, I don't think the evidence is sufficient that a single sensor with software can handle situations that humans can." What? Have these people seen anything Tesla is doing right now? This bill is absolutely ridiculous. Link to oppose the bill is below.
