LGBTQ kids have extremely high rates of self-harm and suicide. Even the New Brunswick rules allow for adults to work with kids, counsellors and others before informing parents. These rules will only allow for intervention after harm has occurred. That’s cruel and inhumane.

.@ABDanielleSmith CONGRATULATIONS Jim Prentice tried to roll back LGBTQ kids’ rights, but was forced not to. Jason Kenney managed to deprive LGBTQ children of some protection. You, however, will show kids what true homophobia looks like. Alberta feels like Alabama. #ableg

Wow, you really did it Alberta. You elected a residential school denialist, found to breech the Conflict of Interest Act, who repeatedly said she will make you pay for health care Premier. A party with blatant transphobia, racism, literal violence, and corruption. Wow. Good luck.

White People must be part of dismantling White Supremacy which has institutionalized systemic racism and oppression by the exclusion of many groups for over a century. We cannot do this alone - this work must be done together.
Hayden Dawes, PhD, 🏳️‍🌈✊🏾@hcdawes

I have an open and honest question: For the White people who are committed to dismantling white supremacy, what have you gained in doing the work? We often hear about the losses, but what makes it worth the struggle for you personally?

Another example of a non-Indigenous person co-opting Indigenous identity. This is the final step in Colonization, if they cannot kill us (Genocide), they try to become us, to erase us. Danielle Smith says she has Cherokee roots, but there's no record aptnnews.ca/national-news/…

We had to fly from Toronto to Saskatchewan last night. Guys coughing and congested to my left and right (not masked), people coughing in front and behind (not masked). No one else masked. It’s sad to see, especially when the childrens’ hospitals/ED’s are being over run 😣

UCP ministers are now boasting about all the great things they’re going to do: add more EAs, re-index AISH, address kids’ mental health, etc. Every one of them had 3+ years to push for these things. They were all silent. They were complicit. Do. Not. Buy. Their. Spin. #ableg

Can anyone think of positive indicators that Indigenous health is improving in the health system, bc I find it hard to. 1) women still being sterilized 2) continued outlawing of our own medicines, while nice land acknowledgments exist@entrances 3) Racism 4) Enabling racism Etc.

Ministers responsible for the Status of Women across Canada are meeting in Nova Scotia. Alberta doesn’t have one, since they killed the ministry. There’s a parliamentary secretary, but did they send her? Naw, they sent one of the Jasons™️ instead. Were no women MLAs around? 🤔
