They carry weight when the committee wants it too. 2017 Alabama didn’t make the conference championship but they made the playoffs. Last year TCU lost in their conference but they made the playoffs. If we really want to make this a colorblind system then ban colleges from asking applicants their race/sex, name, & their high school/school district. Until that happens… RACE will ALWAYS play a role- however, now, it could be detrimental to the marginalized. #affirmativeaction

If SCOTUS was serious about their ludicrous “colorblindness” claims, they would have abolished legacy admissions, aka affirmative action for the privileged. 70% of Harvard’s legacy applicants are white. SCOTUS didn’t touch that - which would have impacted them and their patrons.
