Here we show how the Plasmodium-inhibiting symbiont of Anopheles affects the development and fitness of An. arabiensis mosquitoes under different diet regimes. Results that will inform establishing Microsporidia MB-infected mosquito colonies.

I started working on Tungiasis a year ago; was baffled by how this disease is so intertwined with social and physical environmental factors and how it sets you up for a disadvantaged future. It's great to see data building up to get attention for this "very" neglected disease.

Just finished a training on MALDI TOF at icipe Mbita Campus. It is a relatively new technology in insect science and we hope to develop it further for screening large numbers of disease vectors for various parameters in one go.#bruker #icipe
