I think this is generally an approach which will come back to bite us. I agree, in an ideal world I'd love every player to 'choose' us, similar to Mbeumo and Cunha. But ONLY buying players that are 'desperate' to join us is a recipe for disaster. A lot of world-class talents will happily play for any good team in a top league, we can't refuse to buy players that are willing to play for other teams. Smart players will leave their options open. I hope this approach is being sensationalised in the media and that the higher ups are not stubborn with it.
