A powerful girl or woman is someone who embodies self-confidence, assertiveness, and the ability to overcome obstacles to achieve their goals. They are an advocate for a cause they care about.

Grateful to have spent part of today with fellow Youth MPs-elect and the Uganda Parliamentary Youth Forum on Youth Affairs @UPFYA_2008 Secretariat discussing the future we want to build for Uganda’s youth. We identified key priorities that we will jointly push for throughout this term to ensure young people are heard, empowered, and represented. Special thanks to @Turya_osborn ES special interest groups, @JMunyangabo the permanent advisor to the forum and country director Westminster Foundation for taking time to guide us as we prepare to start our term of office.

As I have always said, If you have a problem with menstrual blood, then just date a man. Women menstruate it is not news. And sometimes, mistakes will happen. If you think this little blood messes up your car, then wait till she has to push a baby out in the car while you are stuck in jam rushing to the hospital, you will see real blood. And if she had a heavy meal before labor begins, Number 2 will actually come out before the baby. So this is nothing lads. As long as you are straight and love women, then terms and conditions apply.😉 abakyala bazira.

National Secretariat for Special Interest Groups
Youth leaders from Iganga District visited us at the Secretariat, where we held discussions on how the National Youth Council can support their mushroom farming business. During the meeting, it was agreed that the Council will first conduct a site visit to better understand the project before making any commitments toward supporting the business. We are proud of the initiative shown by young people and remain committed to promoting financial empowerment projects that strengthen youth livelihoods. @Moglsd_UG

Honoured to be invited at the closing of the African Pastoralists Women Gathering in Uganda, graced by the Guest of Honour, Rt. Hon @AnitahAmong , who also launched the Pan African Rangeland and Pastoralist Charter. Pastoralist women are the backbone of our communities yet often unheard. Uganda has strong policies supporting pastoralists, but implementation must match the promise. We thank H.E @KagutaMuseveni, for the peace locally and across borders, especially through disarmament efforts. For the youth: this is our call to amplify voices, drive action, and build inclusive, resilient communities.

I this week hosted a team of young inspirational women leaders on U24 Television. This episode was dedicated to understanding the progress of Uganda’s women in leadership and Governance with a key highlight on the challenges and achievements so far. Our conversation was joined by Atukunda Mary Tracy the secretary for female Affairs Ntungamo District-under the National Youth Council @AtukundaTTracy , Hon Lenia Charity Kevin the Member of Parliament Elect for Vurra County-Arua @Leniacharity and Hon Ampaire Diana Kampe the NRM Flag Bearer for NFYMP @AmpaireDiana They shared their experiences and what the environment for leadership and governance is for a young girl and women. Women up to-today continue to face cultural barriers, patriachal barriers, financial barriers among others . When a woman is contesting against a man it is easier to be asked if they are married, have children or family as one of the measure for them to be able to be trusted unlike if it is a man. The financial Barriers are even worse with the feminisation of poverty were most women are suffering with poverty, unemployment and the concept of Unpaid care at home. All this continues to directly and indirectly exclude woman or even make their journey in leadership partcipation be hard . And hence need for more emphasis on women’s economic empowerment from government, individuals NGO’s. The Campaign #GivetoGain is one that must be taken to ensure that some of these issues are addressed. We Must invest in women, women lead initiatives, all organisations front lining a better inclusive society for women and government entities to contribute to this cause. The policies too must work for women in all different feilds .
