Terrible service from VFS with OCI application in the US. Abject errors in processing of documents and lacking escalation process is resulting in unnecessary delay and time-wasting of all parties involved. @IndianEmbassyUS @vfsglobalcare @DrSJaishankar @MEAIndia

Healthcare is a complex system, upheld only by the dedication and service of a team of exceptionally hardworking and compassionate individuals. I've been privileged to be a part of that team, not only for the privilege of treating patients, but also for the opportunity to work alongside, collaborate with, and learn from my colleagues. Every one of us has a vital role, one honed through hard work, dedication, and commitment to areas of expertise. When that expertise involves obtaining a doctorate degree, that accomplishment absolutely brings with it the title of "doctor" and the respect that accompanies it. My naming these true professionals alongside charlatans was inappropriate, not to mention factually incorrect, and for that, I truly apologize. My intention was not to offend or belittle the skilled team members with whom I am privileged to work alongside, nor was my intent to condescend, patronize, or alienate my colleagues in any way. For any hurt that resulted, I am also genuinely sorry. Medicine is about lifelong learning, and I am grateful to have teammates who are generous teachers. I’ve learned from this experience, and it has made me a better partner in the collaborative environment of mutual respect and support we rely on.

How do you tell a medical doctor? Real doctors: *reluctant to state they are doctors in public/social forums* Non-MD/DOs: *take every opportunity to say they are a doctor…* (chiropractors, naturopaths, pharmacists, apothecaries, charlatans…)

A PhD is HANDS DOWN a higher proof of intellect than an MD. You need to add to human knowledge as a PhD. No amount of mugging books & writing exams can get you a PhD.

No, charlatan included in jest and hyperbole. I don’t think “medical doctoring” is exclusively science, either. I would actually NOT ever qualify myself as a “scientist”. Medicine is an “art not science”, but I wouldn’t call myself an artist either. My opinion—I’m not offended if we politely differ.

Same for white coats…chances are, if someone is wearing a white coat, they are a chaplain/pharmacist/therapist/food services/etc… If they are wearing a fleece or soft shell, probably a doctor, and probably have their name and credentials embroidered on said clothing 🤣 #medtwitter
