The inability of most nation states to say something as simple as “The US and Israel committed serious crimes of aggression that violated international law, and they continue to do so. Iran has the right to defend itself. We call on all parties to cease hostilities” is nuts.

@TweetMeRyan @UKLabour @Keir_Starmer I’ve heard conflicting reports about the nuclear negotiations that were going on , some say there was a deal and some say there wasn’t . My problem is the lack of a plan here . As with Iraq under George W , there wasn’t one . I wouldn’t trust Trump or Iran personally

I am very wary of reports that the UK is now within range of Iranian ballistic missiles. But if the reports are true, let’s be in no doubt: the UK has no defences against such missiles. No dedicated national ballistic missile defence (BMD) system for intercepting intermediate- or intercontinental-range threats aimed at the homeland. No ground-based interceptors (like US THAAD or Patriot systems in Europe) deployed in Britain for this purpose. In theory our T-45 warships could provide some cover. But most are currently undeployable or not in UK waters. Leaving us defenceless from ballistic missile attack. Another massive military failure of the political class of all recent governments.

@MichaelESC @UKLabour @Keir_Starmer Iran had a nuclear deal already in place. It was Trump who scrapped it and then launched the attack causing the war. They are the aggressor. All in the name of Israel mind you, who have been trying for a decade to get the US to attack them

The general point andrew was making was that we are not able to defend ourselves and I bet most people don’t know that
