Missing school should NEVER be part of her period story. Fear of stains, no pads, no changing rooms, no water and teasing keep girls especially those with disabilities away from class every month. A period should pause nothing. #PeriodFriendlyWorld #TwezuuleFoundation

⚠️Misconceptions about albinism & disabilities continue to drive exclusion across Uganda. Through our "Advancing Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities & decision-making processes in Uganda" (AIPSSDU) project, we are holding community dialogues across Karamoja and West Nile. 1/4

A period is not a punishment. Every girl, especially those with disabilities, deserves to understand her body, free from myths, fear, and shame. Too many believe menstruation means sickness or a curse. Not anymore. Breaking taboos. #PeriodFriendlyWorld #TwezuuleFoundation

A few weeks ago, a fellow youth told me something that stayed with me: “Focus more on people knowing you than you knowing many people.” When people know your value, work, strengths, and impact, they trust you, recommend you, and connect you to opportunities. Real influence comes from recognition, not just connections. 📸 @pillar_mbabazi

What does a truly inclusive community look like for every young girl? It starts with creating safe spaces where equality, respect and inclusion for all is encouraged♿ It was amazing facilitating a Disability Awareness and Inclusion Training with young girls with and without disabilities. #TwezuuleFoundation NB; Video edited by me🤣

This is a powerful example of what meaningful inclusion looks like in practice. Bringing together community members especially persons with disabilities to access legal knowledge& support not only empowers individuals but strengthens the entire justice system at the grassroots.
FIDA Uganda@FIDA_Uganda

82 community members, including 25 persons with disabilities, engaged in a legal awareness session in Arua under the #GEIFProject supported by @CrossroadsIntl, led by FIDA-Uganda. This deliberate inclusion reflects our commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing justice. ⚖️ At the heart of this work are Community Legal Volunteers (CLVs), our most sustainable pathway to justice at the grassroots. By strengthening their capacity, we are ensuring that legal knowledge, support, and referral pathways remain within communities long after project cycles end. Through discussions on human rights, GBV, land and property rights, family law, and succession, participants gained practical knowledge to navigate everyday legal challenges, while several received immediate legal guidance and follow-up support. 📚 #InclusionTuesday

We must get over the myths and misconceptions surrounding young people living with disabilities. They are human too and deserve equal access to mental health support, ARV adherence programs, and all essential services. Inclusion is not charity, it’s a right.
Twezuule Foundation♿️@TwezuuleF

Breaking barriers one step at a time. Mental health support and ARV adherence programs MUST be accessible to young people with disabilities. Inclusion saves lives. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #TwezuuleFoundation

To every young person with a disability, navigating mental health, or facing HIV, your existence is a blueprint of resilience, not a burden. You are worthy. Healing is not linear, but you are never alone in it. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #TwezuuleFoundation
