How I Became A person With A disability♿️ 📌I was born like any other normal child but at the age of 2 years when i was taken for immunization the doctor used an expired vaccine and he injected it into me. 📌I started feeling pain and i couldn’t walk my left leg became stagnant with growth as my right leg was growing normally, we went to Mulago Hospital for 6months plus as the doctors were trying to balance the two legs 🦵 📌But it was all in vein, we went back home but i had started crawling that’s when my daddy introduced me to using a stick to walk because i had to go school. 📌I went to Nursery,Primary,Secondary,Institute and University on my stick my daddy introduced me too till now. 📌After university Covid-19 came and since the mode of the day was about hygiene that is when i learnt how to make Liquid Soap along the way i got some challenges and thought about looking for a job in IT because that is the cause i did at campus(digital marketing) Mr @deejahn was/is mentoring in digital. 📌I applied somewhere and everything went on well but when the Human Resource got to know she was going to employ a person with a disability everything ended there, I was disappointed and asked myself why did i go to school even, 📌By then madam @fsnakazibwe was my customer i shared with her and she advised me to better stick to my business and glow it because the employment world think persons with disabilities can’t execute to the level of their companies. 📌From my conversation with her i started thinking about my fellow youth with disabilities who need helpers full time if they can’t employ me who can juggle around with out a help,for-example (those with visual impairment,hearing and some who use wheelchairs) 📌That is when i started thinking about young boys and girls with disabilities who are at the university who think that after campus we will get jobs if the employment space still has this negative attitude towards persons with disabilities. 📌I started sharing my empowerment skills with my fellow persons with disabilities and the community that believes in us and am proud that now am the Executive Director of a youth and disability led organization known as @TwezuuleF #DisabilityPrideMonth #Twezuule

How often do we assume we know why a couple doesn’t have children? Did you know that infertility can affect both women and men, and that in many cases, the journey is far more complex than most people realize? Yesterday’s fellowship was a powerful reminder that behind every fertility journey is a human story that deserves compassion, not judgment. Facilitated by Dr. @eladuemmanuel3 the session unpacked the realities of infertility, addressing its causes, treatment options, common misconceptions, and the importance of creating a supportive environment for couples navigating these challenges. The conversation encouraged us to replace assumptions with understanding, stigma with empathy, and silence with meaningful support. Sometimes, the greatest difference we can make is by listening, learning, and standing with those who need encouragement. We appreciate Dr. Emmanuel for the sharing with us and to everyone who took part in this important fellowship. #InfertilityAwareness #RotaryFellowship

Our Disability Isn’t The Barrier ♿️ The greatest barriers we face are often not our disabilities, but the barriers society creates. Every day, many of us are seen through the lens of disability before people take the time to see our abilities, our dreams, and our potential. Our lives are not defined by the way we walk, hear, see, or communicate. We are defined by our contributions, our aspirations, and the opportunities available to us. When schools are accessible, healthcare is inclusive, transportation is available, workplaces embrace diversity, and communities welcome everyone, disability does not become a limitation it becomes another part of human diversity. Our advocacy is not about asking for special treatment. It is about equal access, equal respect, and equal opportunities. An inclusive society does not only benefit persons with disabilities. It creates a better world for everyone. #BeyondOurDisability

Did you know that at 5 months in the formulation of a female, she has 5M ovaries, at birth they reduce to 2M at the adolescent it reduces to 400-500 ovaries. Every money during menstruation a woman loses 30 ovaries. #InfertilityAwareness

Let us be very slow when it comes to asking couples why they have delayed to give birth. #InfertilityAwareness

Men should stop pointing fingers to women when it comes to delays in conceiving because there is a drop of 50% when it comes to sperm production in men. #InfertilityAwareness

The chances for someone to get pregnant in a month is at 20% and 85% chance in a year, If you fail to conceive in a year it’s advisable to seek medical attention #InfertilityAwareness
