@F1 @pirellisport Really?

According to Jon Noble (The Race), a meeting with the FIA and team technical directors is scheduled for April 9th to address the issues surrounding qualifying. Some solutions will have to wait until next season. Other intermediate solutions are being discussed for this season.

FP2 LONG RUNS 📊 🟢Mercedes is looking untouchable: quick and consistent 🔴LEC was next best, yet over 0.6s/lap slower! 🟠PIA set the quickest lap, but long run didn't impress 🟣Alpine and⚪️Haas are looking good again! 🔵VER again nowhere. HAD was as quick as him once slow laps are removed! Pace per team: 1)Merc/ANT (M) 2)Ferrari/LEC (M) +0.662s/lap 3)McL/PIA (M) +1.144 4)Alpine/GAS (H) +1.301 5)Haas/OCO (M) +1.410 6)RBR/VER (H) +1.493 7)Audi/HUL (H) +1.550 8)RBs/LAW (M) +2.050 9)Williams/ALB (M) +2.468 10)Cadillac/BOT (M) +3.205 #F1 #JapaneseGP

The most efficient CPU air cooler ever made comes from Sandia National Labs. Instead of air blowing over fins, the entire heatsink rotated on a cushion of air 10 micrometers high at 2000 RPM. The air gap was so small the layer itself became a sort of “thermal paste”. Such an insane rotation speed eliminated all the dead air around the fins; Sandia claimed you could make it 1/10th the size of a traditional cooler.

what he’s politely not saying is tht the current regs have turned quali into a tire temp lottery + a battery mgmt sim...you can have the fastest car on paper but if you can’t get the tires in the window or you’re saving charge for the final sector, the lap is cooked before it starts. #F1 #Ferrari #JapaneseGrandPrix #Suzuka

charles on the qualifying change in suzuka: "It will be pretty, pretty similar, apart from for the driver, where maybe a little bit less lift and coast, which is, i think, a good thing. i think for qualifying, there are still some changes that needs to be done to make sure that we can push at the maximum, whatever the limit of the car is, but at the moment, so far for the first two races, it was more about managing everything properly in qualifying, rather than the actual flat out push that we were used to in q3 in the past years. so there's still some fine-tuning to be done on that, but i don't think that this particular change will be a game-changer for this weekend."

🚨🔥Following the recent strikes on Primorsk, Ukrainian drones targeted the ports of Vyborg and Ust-Luga today. Ust-Luga is Russia’s largest Baltic port, handling over 100 million tons of cargo annually, including oil, LNG and coal, while Vyborg serves as a smaller but important regional export hub. Together with Primorsk, these ports form a key part of Russia’s Baltic export infrastructure, critical for energy shipments and sustaining the country’s war economy.

@Tendar Lookk like a surgical shot at arctic power projectn and border security infra...considering 56 drones were reported over the region last night, seems like the ukrainians are systematically dismantling rus’s baltic logistics hub one piece at a time . reuters.com/world/fuel-res…

🚨 #F1 manufacturers and the FIA have agreed a last-minute rule change to qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix in a bid to avoid energy management headaches. The single lap recharge limit - which was originally going to be 9MJ for Suzuka - will be dropped to 8MJ. This should reduce the need for excessive super clipping or lift-and-coast tactics in fight for grid positions.
