@g__j @agile_phil @OctopusEnergy Hi Greg. Still saving for a heat pump but it will be ground source. If 🐙 saw it economically to design a 3,5,8 kw ground source HP it would be the one I would buy. Realise it’s in the minority but they are high value low kW investment for the extra work to dig or use a river.

Not a study, not a survey - but the actual live data from every @OctopusEnergy Cosy heat pump installed in real homes is now online. And it shows that over 80% of Cosy heat pumps were cheaper to run than a gas boiler over the last year and delivered a COP of 3.7 over the whole year (about 4.3x more efficient than a gas boiler) There’s so much disinformation from fossil fuel lobbyists on heat pumps - and anecdote based on bad installs or out of date tech - but we hear time and time again how much Octopus customer la love their heat pumps. Cosy heat pumps can run as hot as a boiler (70C+), can often be installed with no radiator changes and no new insulation, work with microbore piping, can often retain your old hot water tank if you have one. But so much more - comfort sensors in up to ten rooms, optional remote support and servicing, software updates to literally make your heating better without a visit. Effortlessly working with smart tariffs to save money. British designed, British manufactured and thousands of great British jobs. Helping insulate Brits from the last gas crisis, this gas crisis and more to come. See the data for yourself: octopus.energy/cosy-heat-pump…

@OctopusEnergy @g__j Hey octopus, I’d love it if when looking at gas tariffs to switch to on app, that the price per kWh & standing charge is shown as well as the monthly cost like the “my rates” window. It seems fundamental but not there & would helpful to compare/decide. Thanks!

@RachelReevesMP @CMAgovUK @Keir_Starmer I support Labour but I’ve just had my 2024/25. 30/12/25 Application to not pay on account rejected on 2 Jan 2026 & interest backdated to 1 Jan-25 and 1 July-25. Why reject a year later & surprise me with 7% interest. It’s morally wrong to reject a year later surely?

Unjustifiable price hikes for fuel as well as heating oil will not be tolerated. The @CMAgovUK have my full backing in using its powers against those seeking to exploit the current situation and its customers.

@MartinSLewis Is it fair for HMRC to reject a claim made on Dec 30 Dec 2025 to not pay on account when completing for 2024/2025 tax self assessment & have it rejected on 2 Jan 2026! THEN backdate the interest for not paying from 31 Jan 2025 & 1 July 2025? Taxes were paid on time

@Keir_Starmer @UKLabour Excellent. It’s reassuring to have faith in govt. The opp. only has a policy of criticising 1.Your personality 2.What Rachel Reeves looks like & 3. all your gov. does and says. There are no sustainable policies, long term social or growth goals, only stirring us against each other

I know many people across our country are worried about the impact of the Middle East conflict on the cost of living. My Labour government is on your side, focused on protecting your families and acting in the national interest. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

@MartinSLewis Add up the annual home bills inc cars council tax energy and divide by 12 and both put that away each month. Create another account called the fun fund. Put some in there for regular date nights. Have your own banks accounts essential. If not working allocate some for that person

@elonmusk Thinking rockets. Like a steam catapult on a carrier, there surely must be a way to mitigate Tsiolkovsky rocket equation for exponential weight of fuel. Gently lifting before or during ignition. This, in the same way as you gently support Starship on landing. Amazing fuel saving.

@UKLabour Keep going. The right people know that you’re doing the right thing, just a shame that with integrity,we can’t find better tactics with better tech than these self serving lot are using to media manipulate us into hating each other, you and your party. We also need EU by 2029

People are rightly impatient to see the change they voted for. It’s our job to make sure that happens. And we’re working day in, day out to see it through.

@AngelaRayner Also shows that the good people of Britain don't want reform & are willing to vote tactically to keep them out. Cross party support may be the only way to keep Britain caring and growing with mutual respect, culture and integrity after 14 rightwing years trashing it

@g__j Perhaps waiting 4 policy makers to see zonal sense we embed some NVIDIA cards in new wind turbines linked with fibre. Scale number crunching to where the power is,an 80/20 win. Data over fibre costs less without copper & ~0 xmission losses.Tranportation Waste,Kaizen all the way😁

Or we could... generate more electricity And perhaps build data centers near generation... maybe with some sort of pricing system to signal where is best (so that we don't all have to pay extra for new grid).

@g__j @g__j Perhaps Octopus Energy Generation could look at leading the way in this. Data processing as a service. Us retired engineers are full of Trevor Bayliss ideas it but one day something might stick and make a difference. He did quite well with energy generation at point of use!

The choices this Labour government has made means inflation has fallen today to its lowest rate in a year. Lower food and petrol prices are helping ease the pressure on household budgets. I know there’s more to do, cutting the cost of living is my number one priority.

@RachelReevesMP @Bruegel_org Excellent news. 8 million of the 17.5 million who voted out have died. 6.8-7.2 million who were below the voting age in th 2016 referendum can now vote. If people don’t like what they read here, let’s democratically check again to see if things need adjusting. #I❤️Democracy.

The future of our economy, security, resilience and defence is bound with Europe. Closer alignment isn't about choosing sides - it's about geography. Good to speak to @Bruegel_org about investing in our collective security and driving growth.
