Robert Jenrick being given a clear, unchallenged ten minutes to push Reform UK propaganda on LBC right now.
Remember when political journalists used to ask difficult questions? Well, Iain Dale welcomed him in by saying he was so hard-working. 🤢
There wasn't one pushback against Jenrick's insane claim that 90% of our housing deficit is because of immigrants.
Nothing on Reform's triple Salchow U-turn on the pension triple lock.
Dale teed up some lovely soft soap questions for him, clearly provided in advance.
They'll fund everything with welfare cuts but can't/won't provide any detail; natch — and he blamed those with mental health issues for our economic woes.
And, what prompted me to bother writing this down, was his attack on those immigrants that came in during the 'Boriswave' as he called it.
This is the period in our history, between 2021 and 2024, when Farage insists that the UK was BETRAYED by our government.
It also happens to coincide with the time that Jenrick himself was Minister of State for Immigration. In that very government.
He's attacking a policy that he literally implemented himself — Jenrick.
Did Dale even consider a challenge to this? No, of course not. We can't have Reform propaganda taken to task for its breathtaking levels of hypocrisy.
What a joke. Say what you like about Nick Ferrari, but at least he challenges political guests.
