@ivomgs Not to mention that, unlike the otherwise fantastic Epic Collection books, Essentials did a full reprint of Volume 2 including issues #49 thru 62. I realize Marvel must have been skittish about the latter half of Final Days, but there are so many great issues in that run.

I've got to tell you something... Despite the fact that I have all these stories in other formats, why do I love these Punisher Essentials so much? It's the paper quality, b&w and that amazing smell every time you turn the page. #punisher #thepunisher

RIP Sam Kieth. I’ve never met him, but he was a huge inspiration to me all the way back to his short stories in I before E, his attention to detail on top of his wacky proportions was so dynamic and fun and completely different than anything else out there. he made me want to do my own anthologies with short stories. I did a lot of those before Invincible. Someday I’ll do more. Here’s the only piece of art I own from Sam, it’s hanging up in my home, a pin-up he did for I before E, which I thought was one of the coolest ideas, illustrations with short stories written and drawn by Sam. Amazing.

It’s been lovely seeing all the Sam Kieth tributes. The sheer number of artists who have said he was an influence tells you. Kieth was the real deal. One of the greatest to ever do it. Here are some gorgeous interiors from his MCP work Kieth’s Wolverine was perfect

Anna-Maria Cool was talented, whip-smart, funny, and brave. We hung out a lot at KC comic cons in the 90s, and kept in touch through FB. She was an incredibly bright light, and I will miss her deeply. Here's a couple pics of us at a KC con in 1994. R.I.P. Anna-Maria.

Hey gang...I'm very saddened to hear of Sam Kieth's passing. I thought I'd share this piece of his original art that he gave me years ago--a rejected cover for THE HULK that we both thought was a million times better than the one Marvel eventually approved.

Sam Kieth did this amazing Maxx & Julie commission for me a few years ago.
