As a priest, I do recognize that being “political” is a dangerous game. In most cases, I keep the boundary in check. But the chaos Trump is causing in the US, for Canada, and the instability he is causing in the world order is a point where one cant be silent. He is a threat to peace, to security of Ukraine, and is single handedly leading us into WWIII. The Gospel demands I cant be quiet in front of such demagoguery and carelessness for human dignity. History judges us far after the blindness we hold in the present. I cannot choose to be blind: I choose the light: I choose Jesus Christ.
