@TwoTierTruth Keir Starmer turned up at Southport for a 10 second photo opp. And Dan has the audacity to criticise Farage for paying respects to his colleague and friend @DPJHodges is politicising the hell out of all this for his anti Reform agenda

Dan, spare us the pious concern trolling. Ann Widdecombe was a close friend and ally of Nigel Farage she backed him publicly right up to her final interview. A grieving colleague turning up to pay respects and speak at a memorial isn’t hijacking her death for propaganda is it. It’s basic decency. Your anonymous highly placed source from the Mail on Sunday (conveniently unnamed, as always) claiming the family is uneasy doesn’t override that. Her family doesn’t get veto power over how her friends or political allies mourn her. Farage called it what it looked like to him premeditated. Attacking him for caring about a murdered friend while she’s barely cold is the real ghoulish opportunism here.

The Mail on Sunday’s supposedly highly placed source claiming Widdecombe’s family were very uneasy about Farage at the scene doesn’t seem to tell the full story. Her nephew, the Rev Roger Widdecombe an Anglican priest was also there with Nigel Farage. Respectful tributes from colleagues and friends aren’t hijacking her death for politics, especially when family members are present too.

@TwoTierTruth This "high placed source" forgets to mention that Roger Widdecombe stood alongside Nigel Farage as he laid a wreath in tribute to Ann Widdecombe. So much for the quality of Hodges' journalism.

This is authoritarianism. A prominent former MP and Reform UK figure was murdered in her remote home a home whose layout was broadcast on national TV just days earlier. A suspect from over 270 miles away in South Yorkshire was arrested. Police involved Counter Terrorism units then rushed to declare no political motive. Demanding arrests for tweets and politicising is the real sickness. Police requests to shut up are not laws. In a free society you don’t jail people for noticing odd facts or refusing to swallow the official line immediately. That’s how cover ups and eroded trust happen. Let the evidence come out. Stop trying to criminalise questions. #Freak
dave lawrence 🐟🐟🐠@dave43law

This is getting sickening now They are doing everything they can to politicise the issue and are totally ignoring police requests They should be arrested for interference in a live investigation

So this fat bastard got in his Corsa, which neighbours said never left the drive and had weeds growing through it, drove a 600 mile round trip to a remote small village where a high profile elderly ex MP coincidentally lived, and killed her with a weapon he happened to pack for the journey, for no political reason whatsoever?! Oh, fuck off!

Watering down the 10 year ILR rule for the Boriswave is a disgusting surrender by Labour to its own left wing pressure and Andy Burnham. After the Tories opened the floodgates to nearly a million net migrants a year a reckless deluge of low wage arrivals now lining up for full settlement rights and benefits, we’re on the brink of a fiscal and social disaster. Relaxing this fast tracks permanent residency, benefits access, and family chain migration for cohorts that analyses show will cost taxpayers tens to hundreds of billions. The housing crisis is exploding, the NHS is collapsing under the weight, And British workers are undercut yet again. Labour’s answer is to always cave? Pathetic. Stick to longer waits, or better yet listen to Reform UK and scrap ILR altogether, or own the consequences. Britain can’t afford more weakness.
Politics UK@PolitlcsUK

🚨 NEW: Shabana Mahmood is considering relaxing her immigration reforms so the 10-year wait for indefinite stay does not apply to "Boriswave" migrants They may instead just face longer waits for benefits to ease pressure on Andy Burnham from Labour MPs [@thetimes]

No, he was a Somali. The police left a boy on the floor dying because some guy screamed racism. Why would I sign up to an institution that hates me for being a white, straight English man? After all, we’re treated like guests in our own country. You, my friend, are a bootlicker of the state.

@TwoTierTruth @DPJHodges Axel Rudakubana was indeed born in Wales. The police genuinely didn't realise Nowak had been stabbed. If you're so good, join up and show us all how it's done.

Police again very clear. No suggestion Anne Widdecombe's death terror related. Or that it is politically motivated. And that speculation on motive is unhelpful to their investigation.

The speed and ruthless nature in which Reform have exploited the murder of one of their apparent "friends" for political gain is really quite something to witness.

The speed and ruthless nature with which the left exploits murders for political gain is something to witness. Jo Cox’s killing? Immediately weaponized to smear all Brexit voters and the right. Ann Widdecombe? Reform’s justice and immigration spokeswoman is brutally murdered? Farage pays tribute and notes dangers to public life… and suddenly it’s exploitation? Left wing projection. Reform mourns a colleague. The left protects failed policies that fuel crime. Enough.

This poll should be and is the gut punch to anyone who still clings to the delusion that the Conservative Party can be saved. Forty percent of people who voted Tory in 2024 would rather have Andy Burnham a not so slick, left wing Labour machine politician and Greater Manchester mayor as Prime Minister than Nigel Farage. Let that sink in. Not just any Labour figure, but one of the more overtly progressive ones. These aren’t floating voters. These are the people who voted Conservative just two years ago, and a huge chunk would now hand power to a man who represents the establishment consensus the Tories pretended to oppose. This is the uniparty in its purest form. The Conservative voter base is riddled with people perfectly comfortable with Labour’s core project of mass immigration, net zero zealotry, cultural self flagellation, and the erosion of national sovereignty as long as it is delivered by someone who sounds competent and doesn’t rock the boat. Farage threatens this. Burnham keeps the bureaucracy operating as they want. So they choose Burnham. These are the same people who kept the Conservatives in power for 14 years while borders stayed open, grooming gangs were ignored, energy bills skyrocketed under green dogma, and conservative governments imported more people than ever. They are why the party became a hollowed out husk of managerial globalism wearing a blue rosette. They didn’t want real conservatism they wanted continuity with better branding. This is exactly why millions of voters will never return to the Conservative Party. The betrayal was not just policy failure it also revealed that large sections of their electorate were never truly on side with stopping the rot. They were happy to tolerate it, or even prefer a Labour version, over a genuine disruptor like Reform. The Tories aren’t a conservative party anymore. They’re the slightly less enthusiastic wing of the uniparty. Their remaining supporters who would pick Burnham over Farage have proven it beyond doubt. The realignment is happening whether they like it or not and these people will be left behind with the establishment they so cling onto.

Voters, not committees or timed headlines, should judge Farage that’s not democracy perverted, but rather democracy working. He resigned to let Clacton decide amid the noise. The Rule 5 inquiry concerns disclosure deadlines, not corruption. voters get the final say. A fresh mandate from the people outweighs paused paperwork. If he wins big, as is expected, then the vanity stunt and narcissist smears collapse. Reform is a young party under constant attack it is testing real support rather than hiding behind Westminster games like you. Clacton will deliver the verdict that matters. The establishment machine doesn’t get a veto on it.
