@AndyBurnhamGM How you feeling Andy? Still proud of the rape gang review of yours in Oldham? You know, the one that spent 3 years and failed to interview a single survivor of the Pakistani Rape Gangs. Probably not your finest moment was it?

It is vitally important in a free society that people are free to express themselves. We must distinguish between acts that criticise or challenge an ideology, religion or belief system, and acts that target people because of who they are. At a recent event, a guest asked whether we believe there should be any limits on free speech, citing our defence of those who have burned copies of the Koran. People must be free to express themselves, and sometimes symbolic acts are the most powerful form of expression. Context matters. The right to challenge, criticise and even offend is a fundamental part of living in a free society. The FSU’s Jill Levine explains our position below 👇

Last weekend I set out Reform UK’s plans to fix the centre of government (preparingforgovernment.com/fixing-the-cen…). This policy was informed by hundreds of disillusioned civil servants responding to my call for insights on life in Whitehall. This is some of what they said. Thread:

Billions of £ of taxpayers’ money are lost in a failing system which prioritises process over delivery and where departmental silos are the norm. “Because we are making no progress towards implementation, we have to constantly update our timelines... I doubt the policy will be delivered before the next election.” — Official, Home Office “[The] NHS doesn't speak to DWP doesn't speak to HMRC... Departments cannot share data, many are legally prevented from doing so, and the net result is that we lose billions in fraud and error year on year." — Official, Government Agency “There is a terrible lack of urgency in all delivery. Everything is constantly pushed back with zero consequence and zero sense of shame.” — Official, Home Office

Civil servants are pressured to conform to extreme left-wing and woke ideology. Voicing their real opinions would swiftly end their careers. “Ideological capture soaks through everything, no impartiality, no diversity of thought, critical theory is everywhere and everybody conforms. A total assumption of left wing political views is the norm.” — Official, HMRC “A failure to demonstrate the right attitude to DEI initiatives and a PC culture is one of few things that will lead to dismissal. Those who are not seen as DEI positive are managed out by subtle bullying.” — Official, Government Agency “There has been a spread of networks, nearly all are left or hard left and even anti-Labour. It's totally wrong - whatever political leaning - as the Civil Service has to be impartial.” — Official, Home Office

🚨West Yorkshire Police spends £1,069,188 a year on civilian DEI staff. That exact amount would hire 34 new beat cops at starting salary. What actually makes our streets safer — a diversity team, or 34 extra police on the beat? 🤷‍♂️

There are only two choices in Makerfield. A local Plumber who sends waste to the sewers. Or a Career politician who's never had a job outside of the Labour Party. And belongs in the Sewer. Drain the Swamp. Vote ReformUK.

🇬🇧 You have been told Britain was a backwater before Rome. 🇬🇧 But people walked from the Alps to reach this island 2,400 years before Rome arrived. 🏔️ They came carrying gold no one in Britain had ever seen. 🪙👀 In 2002, Wessex Archaeology dug at Boscombe Down near Amesbury, Wiltshire. They opened the richest Bronze Age grave ever found in Britain. More than 100 objects buried with him. Five Beaker pots. Sixteen finely worked flint arrowheads. Copper knives. Stone wristguards. And two small folded sheets of gold. The earliest gold ever found in Britain. 🏛️ He was in his mid-forties. Robust. Broad-shouldered. And carrying an old wound. A leg infection that had bent his bones. And yet he had walked here. From what is now Switzerland. More than a thousand miles, walked on a damaged leg, to a country he had chosen. His teeth gave him up. Tooth enamel holds the chemistry of the water you drank as a child. And his chemistry was wrong for Britain. The strontium and oxygen pointed to the cold-climate valleys of the Alps. He was born more than a thousand miles east of where he died. But buried in Britain. He came to a people who had been here for thousands of years. Stonehenge was being completed. Bronze was new technology. A bronze-worker could become wealthy on these islands. He was not running from something. He had come toward something. And he stayed. 🇬🇧 The British were already here. Long before him. Long after him. They have been here for thousands of years. And they are still here. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Our story is older than his. Older than Rome. Older than the pyramids. Help us put our story where our children can find it. 👇🙏 👉 proudofus.co.uk/support 👈 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

The telegraph has revealed that Lord Hermer approved Lucy Connolly prosecution. Lord Hermer is also a former patron of Hope not Hate, Nick Lowles the founder of HNH was never arrested for his inflammatory rumours. This looks like a conflict of interest and explains a lot.

@JoFlowered @RachelHale9920 @ZiaYusufUK How many people have been arrested? How many private prosecutions have come to fruition? If it's zero, Lowe's Enquiry has done bugger all. All it did was allow Lowe to grift off the victims and create Restore.

Reform's Makerfield strategy this week has been to attack Andy Burnham over grooming gangs and claim he failed victims. It is worth setting the record straight. Burnham was Greater Manchester Mayor when the Rochdale grooming gang inquiry took place. He pushed for it. He supported victims publicly and consistently. He did not block it. The attempt to tie him to a failure he actively worked to expose is not supported by the facts. Reform's candidate Robert Kenyon is not from Makerfield. He grew up in Haydock, in the St Helens North constituency. His campaign literature said he was born and bred in Makerfield. The electoral roll says otherwise. Reform's own spokesman later said "we think it's more than fair" to describe him as local. That is not the same thing. This week a judge found Nigel Farage's comments during a live trial were potentially a contempt of court and referred him to the Attorney General. Farage's response was to attack the judiciary on X and promise that judicial independence would end under a Reform government. Carol Vorderman has written personally to 6,000 women in Makerfield. Woman to woman. She grew up on free school meals in North Wales and worked in the North for decades. Reform called her a bad faith actor. Meanwhile Labour appear to be simply going about their business. No counter-attacks. No culture war. Just a candidate with a record, knocking on doors. Burnham is currently at 75% on Polymarket. Kenyon at 22%. Labour are 4/7 with the bookmakers. 18 June. 19 days.

@kennedy2324 @ZiaYusufUK That enquiry had no statutory powers, which made it toothless. Maggie Oliver said this would be the case, which is why Reform didn't hold one. By the way, how are the private prosecutions coming on?

Your party have ignored every opportunity to support the Rape Gang Enquiry done by Rupert Lowe. You will undoubtedly be absent again tomorrow in parliament, so IMO you are part of the problem and not the solution. Now using this for political capital is embarrassing. #VoteRestoreBritain

The rape gangs scandal is the greatest state failure in British history. Public bodies and politicians aided and abetted the mass rape and sexual exploitation of children. Predominantly white working-class girls were brutalised by criminal gangs who were (and still are) disproportionately men of Pakistani nationality or heritage. Inquiries and words are not enough. State-enabled child sexual exploitation continues to this day, including in Wigan and Makerfield. For decades, politicians like Andy Burnham, local authorities, the police and the media engaged in a conspiracy of silence - institutional avoidance in the name of political correctness. It is time for action. A Reform government will redress the harms caused by public servants in so many Labour-run local authorities. Within our first 100 days, we will: - Release all files held by public bodies relating to the grooming gangs, going back 40 years. - Increase police and National Crime Agency taskforce funding by £300m, taking it to £400m, so they can adequately investigate the perpetrators and the complicit police officers, social workers and politicians who enabled them. They will be given every resource they require. This is our plan to finally deliver justice for our girls.

And now we see a mainstream political party repeat almost word for word what we have been screaming for years. What are you going to do @AndyBurnhamGM? Threaten to sue Reform? How about send the police to dawn raid Zia's home? Maybe mobilise the Manchester Evening News to smear him as a racist? It is all but over for Andy Burnham. He messed with the wrong town.
