@BM_Visser @NOS Ik verbruik m3 en geen procenten. Duitsland 4 a 5 x zo groot. NL nog 10 miljard m3 op voorraad. Duitsland zou dus nog 40 a 50 miljard op voorraad moeten hebben. Is echter 22 miljard. Zo beschouwd is de voorraad in D veel kleiner dan in NL. Met getallen kan je alle kanten op.

Gisteren bij de @NOS kreeg ik de vraag waarom NL al 31% van haar gasopslag heeft gebruikt, terwijl DE nog op slechts 12% zit. Ik suggereerde dat DE voorzichtiger is dan NL gegeven hun recente ervaring met RU & Nord Stream. Wat denkt u? #grafiekvandedag

@rcbregman I read messages that there were fewer voters this time. If true, why? Less enthusiasm .. or widespread voter suppression? If that is part of the story, it is useless to phantasise about the psyche of "the people" or "the common man", which seems easy pundit-think.

@COP28_UAE Nonsense! From the start of 2025 the remaining carbon budget for a 50% chance of not exceeding 1.5°C is ~170GtCO2 (billion tonnes). Between COP28 & COP29 over 40GtCO2 was emitted. Staying within 170GtCO2 means global cuts in CO2 of ~19% year on year starting now. Do the math/s!

Batteries are now playing a huge role in some energy systems around the world. Look at California - not long ago you wouldn’t even be able to see the contribution from batteries. Few expected batteries to ever be able to compete. Today instead of fossil fuel generation batteries discharge stored renewable electricity. Be prepared for much more to come.

Electric vehicles now represent 19% of the passenger vehicle sales around the globe. 5 years ago EVs had a share of less than 3%.

The European Council has decided to open accession negotiations with Ukraine & Moldova. #EUCO granted candidate status to Georgia. And the EU will open negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina once the necessary degree of compliance with the membership criteria is reached and has invited the commission to report by March with a view to taking such a decision. A clear signal of hope for their people and for our continent.
