Constitutional Protection: Article 1, Section 6 of the U.S. Constitution guarantees that Senators and Representatives receive compensation for their services.
They probably would have to amend the Constitution to fix this which would require a 2/3rds vote to pass and you know that isn’t happening

Under this bill, your driver’s license is no longer enough to register to vote. You’d need a passport or a birth certificate — documents that cost hundreds of dollars and take months to get.
There is no documented crisis of noncitizens voting. Republicans invented a problem so they could sell you a solution that just happens to keep certain people from the polls.
This bill should be called the SAVE REPUBLICANS Act.
