This is a very Bengals draft I feel. A lot of disappointment. But just preparing you all for what it could be. Idk why but this feels spot on given how poor they’ve been at drafting.

@JamesRapien This coaching staff has been a issue but downs would be the best safety in the room day one so should be fine but there’s also no way Geno was the second best safety on the team like no way

My point is, if you take Caleb Downs, you better get him on the field. The last time they took a first round safety, they failed to get him on the field. That can't happen with Downs.

@zimwhodey @thecasualbengal bengals contracts are great minus they don’t always do a year 2 guarantee but most the time the signing bonus is guaranteeing year two, they jus got to draft better and they would be perfect don’t care what people say about making the cap hits smaller now, I agree

The negative side of lowering the year 1 cap hits are situations like this. You now have contracts no one wants w/ guarantees on the current contract. You could cut but then you eat the dead cap hits. Look at Roquan $32M cap hit for an aging player. You will be begging for these type of players to take a pay cut. This is the part our fanbase never explores. IF YOU DO NOT WIN, this is your reality. You cannot be active in Free Agency later. The Bengals are not immune to this. Via @thecasualbengal :

Keionte Scott is the best “Mike Hilton replacement” in this draft, in my opinion. Will be 25 as a rookie, but I think his willingness to tackle and physicality really match that Mike Hilton mold.
