Widely regarded as a genius, so smart he barely needed advisers. FDR's New Deal was Mussolini with a few words changed. It worked! FDR is a hero still today.

@mehdirhasan This is just not a factual statement. Mussolini was a socialist before he was a fascist. Fascism was not a complete reworking of socialism, but a modification of it. Socialism and fascism are both collectivist, authoritarian, statist, and centrally planned ideologies.

A reminder that no serious historian, academic or anyone who has spent even minutes looking at Nazi Germany agrees with this. Hitler locked up the left, denounced the left. He was not a 'hardcore socialist.' The only people who say this are... Nazi sympathizers & the far right.
