@TylerSeabury @ChristinaTasty Bro thinks the rest of the word doesn't exist. 90% of people have never even seen a costco, and never will

It's that time of year again
English

@ChristinaTasty Don't be ridiculous. You can get two powerful window units at Costco for $400 which can easily cool 2000sqft.

Imagine where we’d be if billionaires funded stuff like this and cathedrals instead of third world migration.

@tanpukunokami @lucystone1871 Property tax rates differ by state and municipality.

This might sound insane, but in Japan…
You buy a house with your own money,
and still keep paying taxes on it until you die.
When you buy it, they tax you.
While you live in it, they tax you.
When you sell it, they tax you.
And after you die,
your kids can get hit with inheritance tax too.
Like… bro.
You spent your whole life paying for that house.
And somehow, the government still acts like it’s on a subscription plan.
Is it really “your home” at that point?

@elonmusk Yes, however, fusion is absolutely essential for deep space power generation.

In just the first five months of 2026, nine major shrines and temples have burned across Japan.
・January 15: Suga Shrine, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka
・February 7: Horenji, Matsuyama, Ehime
・February 13: Hottoji, Kuma Highland, Ehime — 1 person died
・February 20: Shorinji, Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi — 5 people died
・April 24: Renshoji, Toyama City, Toyama
・April 27: Uruwashitsune Shrine, Nabari, Mie
・May 6: Furumachi Atago Shrine, Niigata City, Niigata
・May 16: Daishoji, Takaoka, Toyama
・May 20: Reikaido at Itsukushima Shrine, Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima (World Heritage site)
These are not ordinary fires.
Many of these sacred places had stood for hundreds — some over a thousand — years.
I’m not a politician.
I’m not an activist.
I’m just an ordinary Japanese who loves this country.
Every time I see another irreplaceable piece of our history and culture go up in flames, I feel a quiet fear.
Japan was supposed to be the one place where this kind of thing almost never happened.
When did our temples and shrines start burning one after another?

@therealmissjo I am in Rome right now. It is great to see them out in force. 🤙

This is the world we now live in.
On a train platform in Italy the police (with army back up) are checking the IDs and train tickets of all single men who look a certain way.
They don’t ask the men who are blonde or the couples or the women.
I suspect the terror threat is considered high right now, after the “mentally unsound” individual decided to drive his car at a bunch of people in Moderna because he feels Italians are unwelcoming to him and his ilk.
Seems that Italians are expecting more “mentally unsound” behaviour from the usual suspects.

For 20 years, a $6 knob that takes one hour to 3D print has been grounding Black Hawk helicopters four times a month, and the contractor responsible won't sell us the part or the IP rights to fix it ourselves.
So instead, American taxpayers have been paying $40,000 every single time to replace the entire system, multiplied by four times a month, for two decades.
That is NOT a procurement problem, that is a shakedown, and it is exactly why right to repair has to be in this year's NDAA.

@pureMetatron @ceaubin That's some serious Babylon 5 energy. Like, what happened to 1 - 4? 😱
