@Combat_learjet @AurelBuia More starter wear, sure that’s fair. More engine wear due to pooling oil? No? Oil is sticky, it doesn’t completely drain off, and moving parts don’t sit in a bath of oil, they get sprayed with it as the engine runs, so lack of lubrication isn’t an issue when stop/starts are quick

It’s a terrible system. My father was a mechanic and always told me the most damage you do to your engine is during startup. The oil has all drained to the bottom and the oil pump takes a second to build pressure and start the lubrication process, not to mention the wear and tear on the starter. This “invention” exasperates all these issues by requiring the engine to stop and start continuously.

I can’t express how much I despise this system. Dumbest invention ever.
