We need to figure out how to elect some executives who hate the executive branch. We need to elect legislators who despise the government. No more “strong leaders.” No more “wielding power.” I want some cynical bastards who want to make it hard for whoever comes after them.

The State Constitution says that returns are made to the Secretary of State. It does not "put him in charge of" or give him the power to suspend elections. Also, this guy cost his listeners millions of dollars promoting fraudulent, unregistered securities.

This is gross @MaritStiles I agree with and will demand a public inquiry into many decisions the Ford government has made. And yes, should legal wrongdoing be found, ensure it is prosecuted to the extent of the law. But a more important part of a public inquiry is to identify reforms to prevent abuses of power (even where technically legal) in the future. We live in a liberal democracy with rule of law matters and where due process is our right. This kind of language should be resisted. Saying the premier will “be in prison” when there is simply no public evidence of lawbreaking disrespects our democratic institutions. The Greenbelt matters are still under investigation by the RCMP. We must also allow that (admittedly slow) process play out.

The tech career advice nobody gives recent graduates: Stop optimizing for the best company. Optimize for the fastest learning environment. The 22-year-old who joins a 15-person startup and owns their entire marketing/product/engineering function in year 2 will outlearn the peer who joined Google and managed one small component for 3 years. Not because Google is bad. Because compressed responsibility accelerates growth. The best time to take career risk and accept compressed learning is when you have no dependents, low expenses, and maximum optionality. That window is earlier in your career than later. Optimize for: rate of learning, quality of mentors, and ownership of meaningful work. The famous brand on your resume matters far less than the competence you build inside it. Build skills, not credentials. They compound differently.
