📢UCDA announces the reopening of all primary coffee factories in the Greater Mukono, Greater Luwero, and Busoga regions, effective Wednesday, 11th October 2023. These factories had been temporarily sealed to facilitate the natural ripening of coffee cherries at the farms.

COFFEE PRICES: Today's farmgate price range in UGX/Kilo by coffee category: Kiboko 3,600-4,100 FAQ 7,500-8,000 Arabica Parchment 8,400-9,000 Drugar (Clean) 8,000-8,300 Farmers who add value increase their share of the final market price of coffee significantly.

The UCDA team has strengthened ties with key stakeholders to elevate 🇺🇬’s coffee presence in China. Ugandan☕️ features prominently at the Jinda Coffee & Beverages Center, a major coffee hub. There is a promising export market for Uganda coffee in China which we can tap into.

I agree with you Hon. That is why we are still advising you against merging @CoffeeUganda. Coffee is a priority crop for Uganda that requires special attention like other jurisdictions do if we are to compete in the market.

UCDA also gave out equipment for coffee stumping including pruning saws & bow saws. 53% of the coffee trees in Uganda are 8 years and above. The average productivity of old trees is 1.3 kg/tree for trees of 8-11 years, and 1.0 kg/tree for trees of 12 years & above. @FredBwino
