As Director of Operations at @OWC_ug , I joined teams from the @MAAIF_Uganda , @NaCORIUganda , and Regional Coordinator Rocco Pacco, to monitor progress at Betema Farm in Nwoya District. I am encouraged by the strides made so far, with over 200 acres of coffee already planted out of the targeted 1,000 acres. The establishment of a nursery bed with over 2 million coffee seedlings further demonstrates the farm’s readiness to scale up production in the near future. This progress is reinforces our commitment at @OWC_ug to support farmers with technical guidance, and coordinated implementation to drive President’s Coffee Roadmap of achieving 20 million bags by 2030

This progress reflects the joint commitment of all stakeholders toward achieving the President’s Coffee Roadmap of achieving 20 million bags by 2030

The farm has so far planted over 200 acres of coffee against a target of 1,000 acres. Additionally, its nursery bed hosts over 2 million coffee seedlings, providing a strong foundation for scaling up production.

Building on our efforts to expand coffee production in Northern Uganda, teams from the @OWC_ug led by the Director of Operations @DamalieOwori, as well as @MAAIF_Uganda , @NaCORIUganda , and Regional Coordinator Rocco Pacco monitored progress at Betema Farm in Nwoya District

Today, in continuation of the field engagements aimed at supporting the implementation of His Excellency the President’s Coffee Roadmap of reaching 20 million bags by 2030, OWC led by our Director of Operations @DamalieOwori , teams from @MAAIF_Uganda , @NaCORIUganda ,@CoffeeUganda , Regional Coordinator Rocco Pacco, visited Tegot Farmstead in Gulu City, a coffee farm owned by Mr. and Mrs. Mao. At Tegot Farmstead, the team assessed the growth and performance of the coffee planted and interacted with the farmers on best agronomic practices to ensure healthy crop development and improved yields. The engagement is also part of ongoing efforts to profile the progress of coffee growing in Northern Uganda, as government continues to monitor field performance and support farmers to contribute to the national target of increasing Uganda’s coffee production. @norbertmao

Yesterday at Adungu Cultural Centre in Gulu, the coffee value chain stakeholders held a Coffee Inception Meeting aimed at strengthening coordination and implementation across the Acholi sub-region. The meeting included representatives from @MAAIF_Uganda , @NaCORIUganda , Chief Administrative Officers, District Production Officers, cultural institutions such as Ker Kwaro Acholi and Rocco Pacco, @GuluVarsity , and private sector coffee nursery bed operators, with Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) led by our Director of Operations @DamalieOwori and Regional Coordinators. Discussions focused on reviewing progress from the recent seedling distribution, addressing emerging challenges, and aligning strategies to ensure effective implementation and sustainable impact of the coffee program in the region.

The engagement provided a platform for alignment between OWC and political leadership to ensure harmonized implementation of priority projects across districts and municipalities. Leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting agricultural commercialization, enterprise development, and private sector growth as key drivers of transformation in Acholi. The investment profile highlights opportunities across agriculture, agro-processing, tourism, infrastructure, and emerging industries, positioning the sub-region as a competitive destination for both local and international investors @KennethOmona @OPMUganda

On Friday, 27th February 2026, @OWC_ug convened a high-level engagement with the newly elected Members of @Parliament_Ug , LC5 Chairpersons and Mayors from the Acholi sub-region at Gulu Logistics Hub to disseminate the Acholi Investment Profile. The meeting featured remarks from @DamalieOwori , Director of OWC, and was officially opened by Hon. Hillary Onek, Minister for @MinOfDisasterUg A keynote address on #Musevenomics was delivered via Zoom by the Chief Coordinator OWC, Gen. Yesterday on 20/02/2026 in Kirema Nakaseke district, our Chief Coordinator Gen Salim Saleh delivered a powerful presentation during an engagement focused on strengthening Uganda’s coffee value chain and accelerating commercialization. He shared his coffee journey, taking participants through his coffee story from the days of the Uganda Coffee Company and the Farm-to-Cup model, highlighting key lessons on value addition, cooperative revival, and farmer empowerment. Yesterday, our Chief Coordinator Gen. Salim Saleh hosted the trade and investment delegation from the Westminster Africa Business Association and the South Asia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in Nakaseke District, following their tour of Kapeeka Industrial Park where they witnessed tiles and textiles manufacturing as well as smart TV assembly. Invited by the Prime Minister Hon. @RobinahNabbanja on behalf of H.E. the President (@KagutaMuseveni) in October 2025, the delegation is in Uganda exploring investment opportunities, with discussions focusing on equity investment, joint ventures and new partnerships. @UKinUganda @RMalango2021

Today, Uganda through @OWC_ug joined partner states in Djibouti for the final signing of the DESSU MoU, strengthening regional cooperation between Djibouti, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Uganda. The MoU aims to boost regional integration, trade, investment and sustainable growth. OWC was represented by Maj. Herbert Ndiwalana, who has been instrumental in coordinating Uganda’s engagement throughout the negotiations. The event was also graced by the attendance of the President Chambre De Commerce De Djibouti, Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh; and Hon. Minister of @MoWT_Uganda , Gen. Katumba Wamala, who toured key commerce and industry facilities in Djibouti.
