UF Sports Medicine Fellowship

Excited to share that starting in 2027–28, our program will expand to train 3 fellows annually—one each from Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and PM&R. Join us at next week’s fellowship fair to learn more about this growth!

We are happy to announce our 2025-26 fellows, Drs. Mills and Holmes! Our team is excited to have these amazing physicians join us at @UF Congratulations!

Our fellows travelled to Tallahassee, FL last weekend for our in-state rivalry game against @FSUFootball @GatorsFB secured a win in their final game of the season and are headed to a bowl!

Sometimes “it’s tricky” being a team physician! Happy Halloween from our very own Run-DMC in SMAC!

Dr. Alex Sanoja co-instructed the @emresidents sports section’s hands-on sports ultrasound skills section at the @EmergencyDocs ACEP conference in Las Vegas. Fellowship alumna Dr. Sarah Chrabaszcz also attended because of her work with EM residents on poster presentations.

On Saturday, our fellows had their first game in The Swamp! @katiemced was recognized during the first half of the game for her work as Head Team Physician of @USASwimming for the @Olympics. @DrZSportsDoc was honored for his work as a @USOPC_News Team Physician. Go Gators!

Dr Allen Sills, @NFL CMO; Dr Kristen Reynier, Sr Engineer; and Taylor Langon, Dir of Hlth & Innov, visited @UF to discuss current hlth initiatives, including research on instrumented mouthpieces that can detect head impacts. Dr Jay Clugston serves as the PI on the project for UF.

On Friday, our team heard from @CasaDouglas, PhD, ATC, the CEO of the @K_S_Institute. Casa is known for his research on heat illness and sudden death. Our team worked with athletic trainers to learn the best practices to keep our athletes safe. @UFHealth @UFSportsHealth @ufshcc

Well… Sarah & Eric have completed their fellowship with flying colors. We had graduation on Fri, Jun 17 but their last official day is Thursday, Jun 30. We wish them the best and will miss them 🐊🐊❤️❤️
