It is my distinct honor and great privilege to invite His Majesty King Charles III, The King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to address a Joint Meeting of Congress. Our two nations share one of the most consequential partnerships in history, and together we will mark the historic milestone of America’s 250th year of independence.

🇬🇧🇺🇸 On advice of His Majesty’s Government, and at the invitation of The President of the United States, The King and Queen will undertake a State Visit to the United States of America. Their Majesties’ programme will celebrate the historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the UK and the US, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence. 🇧🇲 The King will continue to Bermuda to undertake His Majesty’s first Royal Visit as Monarch to a British Overseas Territory.

Welcome to Windsor! 🇬🇧🇳🇬 It was wonderful to welcome President Tinubu and First Lady, Mrs. Tinubu to Windsor Castle earlier today. They joined The King and Queen for a Ceremonial Welcome in the Quadrangle, where President Tinubu was invited to inspect the Guard of Honour.

Last night, The King attended the second annual Sustainable Markets Initiative Exhibition and Reception. His Majesty viewed exhibits displaying real-world innovations developed by industries, including sustainable textiles, carbon capture models and energy efficient building materials. Launched in 2020 by His Majesty, the Sustainable Markets Initiative aims to support the global transition to a sustainable future.

We are pleased to announce that Dame Caroline Wilson DCMG @CWilson_FCDO has been appointed Ambassador to the European Union in succession to Mr Lindsay Croisdale-Appleby CMG @LindsayCAppleby. Dame Caroline will take up her appointment during August 2026.

The finishing touches are being made in the Abbey ahead of today's #CommonwealthDay service, which will be attended by Their Majesties The King and Queen, Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princes of Wales and other Members of the @RoyalFamily. Among those taking part in the service will be the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Town Hall Gospel Choir, who will give the world premiere of the Commonwealth Symphony composed by Rekesh Chauhan. There will also be a special dance collaboration between the Royal Ballet School and dancers from Sapnay School of Dance, uniting classical ballet and Bollywood in a powerful expression of cross-cultural partnership.

This afternoon, The Queen received Madame Gisèle Pelicot at Clarence House. Mme Pelicot was awarded the Legion of Honour in 2025, following the incredible courage, grace and dignity with which she waived her right to anonymity in France’s largest rape trial. Mme Pelicot’s courage to speak up on behalf of all victims has won her global admiration, and earlier this month, she published a memoir. The Queen has worked to support survivors of sexual and domestic abuse for many decades, and wrote to Mme Pelicot following the trial in 2024.

🏃‍♀️ Surprising Sandringham parkrunners!🏃 Ahead of #WorldCancerDay next week, The King paid a surprise visit to participants of Sandringham parkrun this morning, organised in partnership with the charity Move Against Cancer and Sandringham’s 5K Your Way group. 5K Your Way encourages anyone impacted by cancer to walk, jog, run, cheer or volunteer at more than 120 designated parkrun events across the UK and Ireland on the last Saturday of each month - bringing communities together through movement, friendship and encouragement.

Yesterday, Venezuela violated Guyana’s maritime territory in a provocative act. The UK is steadfast in its support for Guyana’s internationally recognised territorial integrity and urges Venezuela to refrain from such actions.
