Today, May 15, marks 73 years of the Nakba, which began in 1948 when the Zionist settler colonial movement, with the support of imperialist powers, expelled hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes, and massacred thousands more.

This month’s violence is not a “conflict,” but rather the latest manifestation of Israel’s decades long, systemic project of apartheid and colonization.

the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Gaza, and the diaspora. We join in demands for an end to the settler colonial state of Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine and ongoing project of ethnic cleansing, and call for a release of all Palestinian political prisoners.

UMAW stands in solidarity with Palestinians defending their homes against forced displacements in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Occupied East Jerusalem, and with the broader Palestinian struggle for justice and self-determination across historic Palestine,
