HAVOC … Valvular disease. The training focused on management of emergencies in cardiac and thoracic surgery. Cases were all performed by residents with a Thoracic Trauma room and a Cardic Bypass valve room. Thanks to the faculty who supported the education and Synchrony Labs!

In May, Tolisha Alexander woke up with difficulty breathing, unable to walk to the bathroom. She was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Tolisha received the FIRST double lung transplant at UNC due to #COVID19. Read her full story: go.unc.edu/Nk5t6 #Covid_19
