On May 10, 1773, the British Parliament passed the Tea Act. Dive into this resource and take students inside the night 60 men dumped 46 tons of tea into Boston Harbor and how one act of defiance united the colonies and helped spark a revolution. bit.ly/4us9tBQ

When Donald Trump heard Robert Mueller had died he posted “Good, I’m glad he’s dead” When Donald Trump heard Robert Reiner had been brutally murdered along with his wife in his own home… Trump said “I bet he died because he had Trump Derangement Syndrome” When Donald Trump heard Paul Pelosi had been savagely attacked with a hammer, his skull fractured and almost died… Trump got on stage, mocked the attack and everyone laughed. Donald Trump accused 5 Congressional Democrats of Treason… Trump said they should be “Put to Dearth” Donald Trump accused his hand picked Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Mark Milley of treason… Trump said General Milley should be executed. Trump encouraged his followers to attack the Capitol on January 6th and overturn the election results. His supporters attacked the Capitol, built a Gallow and looked to execute Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi. Trump stood by for 186 Minutes and let the violence ensue. Hundreds of Capitol Police Officers were injured. 4 Capitol Police Officers Died. Trump has encouraged his supporters to “Knock the hell out of them” referencing protestors at his rallies. Trump even stated he pay their legal fees. This is the same motherfucker calling for the firing of Jimmy Kimmel because of a comedy skit. The same motherfucker who just had James Comey arrested for posting a meme on Twitter. If anyone needs to tone down the rhetoric. It’s this piece of shit.

The mic cut out during O Canada at the Sabres game. Buffalo filled every single second of silence. Sang it word for word. This is how you tell your neighbors you see them. We love Canada. Don’t listen to the noise.

"My twin boys, now in Grade 5, have #autism and complex needs. At one point, both of them were not attending school full-time because the public system does not support them.  These days, with one of my son’s schools, we’ve developed an “understanding.” I pick him up early. Sometimes earlier if I get the call. And I always get the call.  My body exists in a permanent state of readiness, waiting to be told my child is “having a hard day.” The euphemisms vary, but the message is always the same: get here. Every time I collect my boy, I see him as I did on that first day of JK: confused, overwhelmed, trying to comfort himself. For so long I thought his schooling was my failure. But somewhere between the exhaustion and embarrassment, something else has taken hold: a fierce, clarifying compassion for my brilliant boy who needs accommodation to participate. I have not failed. The system is failing me. I cannot fix a system that keeps sending him home. I cannot force it to see what I see. But I will keep screaming without apology: my son deserves an education. Tomorrow morning, I will walk him into school – hopeful that nothing will happen. That he’ll stay, learn, play and come home. I’ll sit by my phone, waiting for it not to ring." #onpoli #Toronto cbc.ca/news/canada/fi…

Retweeting on behalf of my wife Leslie who teaches in the Toronto District School Board (@tdsb) at a downtown model school. She is experiencing these cuts first hand through teachers in her school being put on the chopping block. This removal of funding will change her school from having ~25 high needs students in a class ... to 30-35. Premier Ford (@fordnation) and TDSB Supervisor Rohit Gupta: Please reverse this decades-old initiative to support our most vulnerable students with greatest need. Neil and Leslie

One year as a principal, I asked our staff to write their hopes for students on the wall outside our main office. Teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, our maintenance technician—everyone contributed. What struck me most wasn’t just the number of responses. It was the nature of them. There were no hopes for higher test scores or fewer tardies. No mentions of completed homework or straight A’s. Instead, these were the kinds of hopes that call people into this profession in the first place—the quiet, powerful convictions that remind us why we do this work. Here are just a few: That students believe in themselves and have the courage to follow their hearts. That every child feels valued, supported, and safe. That students recognize their potential—and use their unique gifts to help others. That they learn to embrace challenges and understand that failure is not a destination, but a powerful place to grow. That they treat one another with respect, empathy, and kindness. That they develop confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. That they leave our school not just smarter, but stronger—better readers, writers, thinkers, and human beings. That they know, without a doubt, how deeply they are cared for. These were our hopes. They were not easily measured. They didn't fit neatly into a data report or a spreadsheet. There was no rubric that could fully capture what a teacher means in the life of a child. And yet, this is the work. While some may try to define school success by numbers alone, the true impact of education lives in these moments—in confidence built, in belonging felt, in courage discovered. I was incredibly proud of our staff, but I also know this: these hopes are not unique to our school. They live in classrooms everywhere. In schools across the country, educators are showing up each day, pouring into students, and working to build brighter futures. There are many important professions in this world. But I can’t think of a more meaningful one than this. Rock on, Danny

Canada’s flag was raised for the first time on this day in 1965, marking a new chapter in our nation’s history. Did you know? The adoption of the flag was more than a design decision; it was the result of a democratic process. Parliament debated multiple proposals that were shaped by the voices of Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Reflecting on this event reminds us that our symbols are shaped by civic participation and collective decision-making. 🤝 This #NationalFlagOfCanadaDay, we celebrate both this iconic symbol and the democratic process that brought it to life. 🍁

BREAKING: A witness who was just 5 feet from Alex Pretti filed an affidavit depicting what she saw. She says he didn’t touch any of the officers and didn’t appear to be resisting. He was merely helping a woman who had been pepper-sprayed. She’s is terrified that ICE is looking for her, saying they are lying and she doesn’t know what they will do to her if they find her.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer is a holiday classic. While the animation was done in the United States, nearly the entire voice cast was Canadian. These are the Canadians who brought the story to life.

While Canada never had federal prohibition like the United States (apart from a brief period during the First World War), the provinces were a different story. Some, like Quebec, had prohibition for a few months. Others, like PEI, had it in place for nearly half a century.
