@CortesMediaH AI has potential, but not in automating human interaction or social support. I’ve seen stories of self-described AI psychosis. With enough time, AI models will often feed into a person’s delusions, which has seemingly led to suicides in extreme cases.

You touched on a very real point.We’re still in a transition phase, so reactions like this are completely natural. But I’m pretty sure we’ll see far more innovative AI tools that actually solve meaningful human problems.I’ve already seen AI being used in health and social support applications, and honestly that makes me excited. When technology is pushing civilization forward, being purely negative about AI feels a bit shortsighted to me.

AI feels like it’s moving in the wrong direction. Google i/o was a snooze fest that focused on automating human-to-human interaction & shoving AI into it. Replacing essential skills and independent thoughts with AI is asinine. Find your own hobbies, write your own emails.

@Anubhavhing It’s steering people toward a future where they’re relegated to the status of consumer in any situation. If AI schedules everything for you, decides your hobbies, writes for you, reads for you, does your work for you, then what part do you ultimately play? Prompt generator?

@MarkBadMan @beagewill AI doesn’t convey emotions very well. Most of what it generates is either dull or vaguely optimistic in any given scenario. The weird thing about AI-generated texts I’ve seen online is the way they needlessly repeat points/sentences, without any added context.

@MarkBadMan @beagewill People avoid AI writing like the plague, so much so that it’s not a good idea to use em dashes anymore. AI tends to focus on details to the point of hyper fixation, often missing the bigger picture or failing to make a persuasive statement altogether.

MBA/MBP upgrades are dull, as expected. Pink iPhone 17e looks weird, like the scrapped iPhone 16 prototypes. do not care about the M4 iPad Air at all, easily the most forgettable upgrade

The MacBook Neo feels like a reincarnation/spiritual successor of the iBook G3, with its bright colors. Looks infinitely better than the white polycarbonate MacBooks, or the 12-inch MacBook with the dreaded butterfly keyboard.

@ClassicII_MrMac Internal distributions of 26.3 supported this thing from the get go — it’s more so that Apple removed references from the public release of macOS 26.3.
