I want to give a HUGE shoutout to dosdude1 for fixing this insanely rare prototype iMac G3. This thing is a time capsule of Apple history, and we got it all on camera! 👉 youtu.be/FLv3c76vqE0 We encountered some surprises while filming, some good, and some… not so good. 😅

@cnewton_ky That was my thought also. Like if this sat outside somehow and it was just sun damage? But more and more it is looking like it heavy smoking damage? If so the insides would be a mess :(

I feel like this poor thing needs to be saved. What a cruel way to go out. This would be an amazing restoration project for someone. If it was nearby I would save it.

With hindsight, most likely Apple had to fix or update something on the backend. Apple Engineer: We need to fix something on the old signing server. Manager: Ok, should we let anyone know? AE: Na, users will not even notice, as it will only take about a day or so. M: ok, go ahead Arron & MacRumors: Apple unsigned older iOS versions AE: Shit M: Double Shit

This was a BIG deal for vintage Apple collectors. If you had an older iPhone like the iPhone 4s, you would never be able to restore it again if iOS 9.3.6 was left unsigned. The weird part was that Apple only unsigned Qualcomm basebands for cellular devices. All other Wi-Fi-based devices were fine! At first, it was easy for me to jump to the conclusion that Apple did this to kill off old devices. However, the cellular device part was just strange. I am very happy that Apple fixed this and is still maintaining the signing infrastructure.🙏

@ClassicII_MrMac I agree with you. But I liked the 2010 show. Some nice presentations (Pogue and Bill Atkinson). But the last ones were really not good (when they started to call it iWorld).
