On March 7th, Leonel Eduardo Velasquez-Lastra, an illegal alien, was arrested for DUI by The Kildeer Police Department and taken into custody by HSI and USBP Agents. In his possession was a firearm and ammunition. He will be prosecuted for 922(g)(5), Alien in Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition and awaits removal proceedings. On February 4th, Chief Patrol Agent Scott D. Garrett and agency partners welcomed DHS Secretary Kristi Noem at the Grand Forks Air Force Base for a roundtable discussion focused on technology advancements and collaborative efforts to strengthen national security on the northern border. #GFN #DHS #USBP

On November 5th, Grand Forks Sector hosted a Border Safety Event that served as a bridge to the public, helping spread winter border safety awareness. The media had the opportunity to see some of the technology and field equipment our agents use in the winter to help secure our borders. Migrants can underestimate how cold it can get on the northern border, and many attempt to illegally cross when dangerously underprepared. Human smugglers put the lives of illegal aliens in deadly situations during the winter months. Our agents stay committed to securing our borders and safeguarding lives. Chief Garrett answered questions from the media and made very clear that the border remains closed. Staying safe during the challenging winter season cannot be overstated.

Today, Grand Forks Sector HQ hosted a "Pro-Staff Day." GFN Professional staff had the opportunity to operate a variety of firearms and less-lethal devices utilized by agents in the service of their mission to protect America.

On September 17th, Border Patrol Agents assigned to International Falls, MN arrested three illegal aliens in a targeted operation near Black Duck, MN.  While performing an inventory search of their property, agents discovered a small amount of Methamphetamine wrapped in $1 bills.

On September 8th, GFN Border Patrol Agents arrested 4 illegal aliens in a targeted operation near Manvel, ND. One of the illegal aliens is a Venezuelan National who is a suspected TdA gang member, an Egyptian National and two Jordanian Nationals,
