@fareesh @TBhairav8795 @nixxin Hey, I know you’re in India, so I don’t apply to you, but just thought you should know that the whole “brain isn’t developed until 25” thing is bullshit.

@TBhairav8795 @nixxin same, I would advocate increasing the voting age to 25 as well if the brain has not fully developed biologically it makes no sense to allow it to vote

Since I'm being asked for comments on Karnataka's proposed social media ban for those under 16 years of age, here it is: 1. Banning children under 16 from social media may sound like a solution, but it avoids the real problem: The real issue is not social media, but how platforms are designed for delivering constant dopamine hits through algorithmic feeds, rapid-fire content, and behavioural feedback loops. These design choices shape how people behave online, what creators produce, and how attention is captured. If governments are concerned about addiction, anxiety, or declining attention spans, then the focus should be on regulating platform design and algorithmic incentives, and forcing platforms to change: not by punishing children. 2. A blanket age ban ignores how agency develops. Between the ages of 13 and 18, young people gradually learn how to navigate the world, including the online world. We've all been through this. Responsible exposure to social media, guidance, and gradual increases in freedom are part of growing up. A hard cut-off risks delaying that learning process rather than supporting it. We need to help young people navigate the world rather have them live with blinkers, in a manner that is respects their stage of development. 3. There are also serious practical concerns. Enforcing such bans inevitably leads to identity verification requirements, which comes with privacy risks and potentially pushing platforms toward collecting biometric or government identity data for every citizen. In a country where devices are often shared within families, age verification itself becomes difficult to implement reliably. Also, bans rarely eliminate access. Young people will find workarounds, and can use VPNs or just misreport their age. 4. It's important to point out the lack of proper democratic process here: this appears to be a unilateral decision on a key issue by a government, without proper public consultation. 5. Not all Social Media platforms are the same, and it's wrong to paint everyone with the same brush. Those that connect people, and allow friends and family to communicate should not be treated the same as those that feed you a constant stream of addictive content. We need a redesign of systems that currently reward addictive behaviour, and create safer, age-appropriate spaces and tools that allow parents and young users to develop digital responsibility over time. We shouldn't be punishing children for how many Social Media platforms are architected. I would urge the Karnataka government not to proceed with this ban, and go back to the drawing board, to create a more meaningful and thoughtful approach that the world can follow.

@baltic_dan Just enforce the age limit usage of 35 and older. Same as it should be for voting in any and all elections.

Gallup: Positive views of capitalism fell from 61% to 54% in 15 years. We're not losing an economic debate. We're losing a generation that was never taught economics.

In the United States, we shouldn’t have to thank a grand jury for preventing six elected officials from being arrested for exercising their First Amendment rights in a way that angered the president. But this is where we are. Red lines are being crossed. Free speech and the rule of law are miracles of the American experiment. Now is the time for all Americans — regardless of party or politics — to demand our elected leaders honor their oaths to the Constitution. 🎥: @aaronterr1

On Tuesday, a federal grand jury declined to indict a group of Democratic lawmakers who posted a video urging servicemembers to refuse to carry out illegal orders. Let’s be clear: The lawmakers’ speech was plainly protected by the First Amendment. In the United States, everyone — from a sitting U.S. senator to an everyday American — has the right to say our troops should refuse to carry out unlawful orders. Nobody should ever face arrest for doing so. And no prosecutor should ever argue otherwise. All federal officials, from President Trump on down, take an oath to uphold the Constitution. Attempting to have political opponents — or anyone — jailed for their protected expression flatly violates that oath. The Framers intended the First Amendment to prohibit precisely such an abuse of power. These charges should not have been presented to a grand jury. Thankfully, the brave Americans serving on that jury understood their awesome responsibility in our constitutional system. The prosecution ignored theirs. In the United States, we shouldn’t have to thank a grand jury for preventing six elected officials from being arrested for exercising their First Amendment rights in a way that angered the president. But this is where we are. Red lines are being crossed. Free speech and the rule of law are miracles of the American experiment. @AlexDuncanTX Islam is a political system, not a religion. It is not covered by the 1st amendment. We need to ban it, and deport every single Muslim, or we will be speaking Arabic shortly. End the invasion.

As Americans, as Christians, we must be clear: Sharia law is utterly opposed to both the U.S. Constitution AND the Word of God. Let’s break down why they are incompatible: 1- Freedom of Religion Sharia: Leaving Islam = death. Blasphemy = punishment. Constitution: 1st Amendment protects freedom of worship. Bible: “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Cor. 3:17) 2- Freedom of Speech Sharia: Forbids criticizing Islam or Muhammad. Constitution: 1st Amendment protects ALL speech. Bible: We are commanded to “speak the truth in love.” (Eph. 4:15) 3- Equality Under the Law Sharia: Women & non-Muslims are treated as inferior. Constitution: 14th Amendment = equal protection. Bible: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Gal. 3:28) 4- Punishment & Justice Sharia: Stoning, amputations, flogging. Constitution: 8th Amendment bans cruel punishment. Bible: Justice must be tempered with mercy. (Micah 6:8) 5- Right to Assemble & Worship Sharia: Protests & gatherings against Islam forbidden. Constitution: 1st Amendment protects peaceful assembly. Bible: “Do not neglect meeting together.” (Heb. 10:25) 6- Due Process & Trials Sharia: Biased courts, unequal testimony, presumption of guilt. Constitution: 5th & 6th Amendments guarantee fair trials. Bible: God calls for honest judges & equal weights. (Lev. 19:15) 7- Church & State Sharia: Religion IS the state. No freedom of conscience. Constitution: No national religion imposed. Bible: Jesus said, “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” (Matt. 22:21) 8- Marriage & Family Sharia: Allows polygamy & child marriages. Constitution: Civil law requires consent & equal rights. Bible: God created marriage between one man & one woman. (Gen. 2:24) 9- Freedom of the Press Sharia: Media censored if it opposes Islam. Constitution: 1st Amendment protects a free press. Bible: Truth sets us free. (John 8:32) 10- Source of Authority Sharia: Sovereignty belongs to Allah. Human law must submit. Constitution: “We the People” are sovereign. Rights come from God, not government. Bible: Our true freedom is in Christ. (John 8:36) Sharia is bondage. The Constitution reflects God-given liberty. America must remain one nation under God, the one true living God, Jesus Christ, not under Allah and Sharia.

As Americans we need to be comfortable asking questions. What I said in my post about the Hanuman statue in Sugarland was in no way anti-Hindu, I merely asked a question, and as Christians we should be asking these questions because we know what happens when a nation turns their back on God and begins to worship man made idols, Gods, religions etc.
