#WeatherAlert At 7:00am local time, Tropical Cyclone GEZANI was located in the Ankazobe district. Current average wind speed is estimated at 80 km/h, with gusts of around 110 km/h near its center. It is moving westward at 22 km/h. GEZANI will cross the central highlands from east to west today, before moving out to sea into the Mozambique Channel, between Maintirano and Morondava, this evening or tonight. Storm-force winds, accompanied by heavy rain, are expected to continue. Widespread flooding, flash floods, and landslides are highly likely. Please carefully follow the instructions issued by local authorities. Madagascar: Tropical Cyclone GEZANI is expected to make landfall in the Toamasina II district around 6:00pm local time today, February 10. At time of impact, estimated wind gusts could reach 250km/h (155mph). In addition, the storm will generate heavy rainfall of 100 to 150 mm (4 to 6 in) within 24 hours, which could cause widespread flooding, flash floods, and landslides along its path.
