Whenever I mention 'Pakistan' to people in the West, their instant reaction is 'IMRAN KHAN'; Be it posh people at a party or a Sri Lanka-origin taxi driver. They all tell me that Imran Khan is an icon & that Pakistan was progressing under him
Westerners generally think of IK as a modern, liberal & progressive Pakistani. They have no clue about his genuine tilt towards a pan-Islamic global order of which he aims to be the leader
They have no clue about his 'Islamic touch' politics, for which the very same people of the West keep stereotyping (& even keep vilifying) every other Pakistani

پنجاب پولیس کے غنڈوں کی عمران خان صاحب کی بہنوں پر تشدد کی شدید الفاظ میں مذمت کرتا ہوں۔ خود کو فرعون سمجھنے والے مرد سے مقابلہ نہیں کر پا رہے تو گھر کی عورتوں پر حملہ آور ہو چُکے ہیں۔ اس سے پہلے عمران خان صاحب کی اہلیہ پر بھی گھٹیا ترین الزامات لگا کر حملہ آور ہو چُکے ہیں۔ یہ سب بزدلی اور بغیرتی کی اعلیٰ مثال ہے۔
آج ایک صوبائی وزیر مینا خان پر بھی تشدد کیا جا رہا ہے۔ جو قابل مذمت ہے۔ قومی اسمبلی کے رُکن شاہد خٹک اور باقی صوبائی و قومی اسمبلی ممبران کو بھی گرفتار کرنے کی کوشش قابل مذمت ہے۔ مُلک میں جمہوریت اور آئین و قانون کا جنازہ نکل چُکا ہے۔
