Lambeth and Wandsworth are two neighbouring South London boroughs. Wandsworth has put in no recent LTNs. Lambeth has gone big on them. But it is Wandsworth that is performing better on just about every traffic metric.

The cycle lobby will tell you segregated cycle tracks are safe. The data shows it’s not true. 30% of serious injury in the City of London from 2017 to 2024 occurred on short sections of cycle superhighways with floating bus stops.

I wear my heart on my sleeve I always have . I’m too old to change now. The replies to my UTAG tweet have choked me right up. You deserve so much more, it’s why I will continue to fight for this trade because there’s some great people in it now I’m going to wipe away the tears.

All those who were still subscribing to UTAG should have received an email explaining the cancellation of their Subscription. The UCG and UTAG are intrinsically linked . UTAG was a UCG initiative. We once again publicly thank all those stakeholders who supported UTAG and its aims , the biggest thanks goes to all of the Cabbies who signed up to UTAG . On behalf of the UCG committee, we want to publicly thank every single one of you . Trevor

Better Buses - Kensington Road Bus Lane Proposals launches today and you have until 22 August to complete it: betterbuseskensingtonrd.commonplace.is Summary of the Proposals: Kensington Road between The Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park Barracks is serviced by multiple bus routes both eastbound and westbound. The proposed improvements include: Extending the eastbound bus lane by circa 140 metres from West Carriage Drive / Exhibition Road signalised westwards to The Royal Albert Hall. Extending the eastbound bus lane by circa 670 metres from West Carriage Drive / Exhibition Road signalised junction eastwards to Hyde Park Barracks. Extension of the westbound bus lane by circa 80 metres westwards to The Royal Albert Hall. Conversion of the existing eastbound and westbound bus lanes including the extensions    to operate 24 hours and 7 days a week. Changes to the permanent parking and loading restrictions to facilitate the 24 hour and 7 day operation of the bus lanes. Kensington Road will be remarked with 4 lanes where the nearside lanes in both directions will become bus lanes and the offside lanes will be general purpose lanes for use by any vehicle as per the design proposals shown. Access to this lane will be restricted to buses, taxis cyclists and motorbikes. The lane will be operational 24hrs 7 days a week. This gives us extended access and also includes motorbikes so will mean our KOL students have access to these proposed bus lanes. This is our working space so please spare the 5 minutes it will take to support these proposals which complement the ones proposed on the north side of Hyde Park for Bayswater Road. Yes it is not as effective as getting South Carriage Drive back we recognise that but is a step which will help keep our passengers moving.

I am delighted that Black Cabs are allowed across Bank Junction 24/7/365 from Monday 28 July 2025 🎉 This follows an extensive campaign led by myself and Tim Hailes FKC JP over 5 years - supported by many others in particular businesses operating in the Bank area, taxi users, hospitality venues, disability groups, those tackling violence against women and girls @TheLTDA @UnitedCabbies @TheWCHCD @londontaxi_pr @LondonTaxiRadio @seanpaulday

For many years, London’s iconic black cabs have served as moving billboards, carrying messages across the capital. But today — 21st July 2025 — marks a special milestone. We're proud to launch our brand-new advertising campaign celebrating The Knowledge of London — the most rigorous geographical test in the world, bar none. Our striking superside adverts, featured on some of the capital’s most recognisable black cabs, shine a spotlight on the incredible dedication and skill of Knowledge boys and girls. It’s a campaign designed to inspire the next generation of London’s elite drivers. This initiative is backed by a unique collaboration between HP and the United Cabbies Group (UCG). In an unprecedented move, UCG members have voted unanimously to ringfence a portion of their monthly subscriptions to fund this campaign — and others like it — in support of the trade. By joining and supporting the UCG, you’re not just gaining first-class representation — you’re also helping power real action and positive PR for the future of the London taxi industry. It’s a genuine effort to reverse the decline and restore pride in our profession. We’ve worked hard to bring this to life, and we hope to have your support as it grows. #TheKnowledgeOfLondon #LondonTaxi #BlackCabPride #SupportTheTrade #UCG youtu.be/pPnt1GIOl9E?si…
