Some thoughts on the Quinyon Mitchell pick:
** Everything you read about him says he has elite football IQ and play recognition. Made plays at Toledo by knowing what was coming and then having a great break on the ball. His football IQ will help him adjust to NFL.
** Makes plays on the ball. Had 43 PD and 6 INTs over the last 27 games.
** Great speed. Had the 2nd fastest 40-time of all the corners at the Combine, 4th fastest overall.
** Strong and a good tackler/physical vs. the run.
** Could end up being a steal. Was much higher than No. 22 on basically everyone's big board....but this reminds me a bit of Andre Dillard falling
** Not great size for a corner. His wingspan, height and weight are all average/below average. Not bad, but not special size.
** Age isn't a big issue but is a bit on the older side. He'll be 23 in July. That is a decent bit older than the other top corners available (Wiggins, Kool-Aid, Arnold are all around 21)
** Has not played a ton of press. Mostly lined up 8-10 yards back from his WR. I think a 1st round pick should be able to play press-man coverage. If he can't then probably not worth the pick at this spot. You can find zone/off corners later
** Competition at Toledo was not great. Had a good Senior Bowl but big projection in guessing if he can go up against NFL athletes. Kool-Aid, Arnold all played against elite competition
** Not a clear path to playing right away. Slay, Ringo, Ricks, Rogers all have an argument to compete for starting job. Slay will start. Mitchell's status as a 1st-round pick will help vs. Ringo/Ricks/Rodgers but this pick is going to send someone that has a bright future to the bench
** I'd have made a move up for Troy Fautanu. I also would have taken Kool-Aid, Arnold or Wiggins over Mitchell. I think there were better options.

@FlyersNation Lindros told Quebec not to draft him then was traded 2 weeks later after the drafted him anyway. Cutter was drafted over a year and a half ago. This is not the same thing even though they both acted like children. To be fair Lindros was more due to controlling parents.
Scott Hartnell and Al Morganti are digging into Cutter Gauthier on intermission live...
Hartnell: "A kid doesn't wanna be there, hasn't played an NHL game yet, he's thinking he's something else to call where he can be playing..."
Morganti: "And just think of the people involved, Keith Jones and Danny Briere, and you won't speak with them? There's something seriously wrong with that equation." #Flyers
@Scottcnjhere@RoobNBCS I think we have another year of Bradberry and Slay before we can realistically move on from them unless you can work a trade. Good thing is there is cap space for next season.
@RoobNBCS There is reason for hope there because the offseason is going to have to involve money spent along the lines to replace potential retirements. If they can drop Bradberry and don't have to spend big on d-backs it would be huge.
the Bills had 51 pass attempts. The Eagles defense had 1 penalty(roughing the passer). There was a defensive holding but it was offset by a Dawkins holding call. so 51 passes and not one single penalty for yardage against the Eagles secondary/linebackers.
Here's the "late hit" by Edmunds. It's 3rd down & you can see Howell readying to hold the ball out past the sticks as he's heading for the sideline. He has to tuck it back in with the Edmunds hit coming. Edmunds saves the 1st down. Good play! But because it's a QB... penalty.
A name to watch: The #Vikings have received calls inquiring about the availability of former first-round WR Jalen Reagor, source said. Minnesota traded for him about a year ago.
@EliotShorrParks Philly lost the super bowl because of their defense. Unless someone falls that you can't ignore, both picks tonight should be in the defensive side of the ball.
