making a bass trap like this with them is definitely better than a single layer against the wall! and it looks like you’re recording in a wardrobe or something, which is also generally a pretty good idea if you don’t have the budget or space for a dedicated booth. the clothes are probably doing a lot more work than the foam in this case! i’d still recommend looking into some higher density materials than that type of foam if you’ve the inclination. i bought 100mm thick insulation and built whole walls out of it, but you can get it in half that thickness and use it to build small individual panels that replace those foam tiles on your wall - i promise you’ll see wayyyy better results. density is key - foam is not dense, mineral wool is dense as fuckkk
