The threat is not from this mock charge by the cute baby --> but from the mother if you don't respect it.
Elephant calves don't have full control over their bodies when born. The baby shakes its trunk like a noodle, flaps its ears in a random way that looks adorable --> it is learning coordination.
Elephant calves often attempt mock charges at safari vehicles, other animals like lions, big birds --> sometimes just to test their strength. They will charge, but stay ready to rush back to their mother.
For them, this play is learning.
Like humans, a lot of their early learning happens through copying their elders. When they see their matriarch charge at safari vehicles or other animals, they copy it themselves to see what happens.
Sometimes a calf mock charges out of pure curiosity -->a "let's see what happens when I fan out my ears, shake my trunk, and try to look bigger than I am" moment.
The real threat is from the mother.
If tourists don't respect the boundary and get too close to a calf that's playing cute, the mother may launch a real charge & that will be devastating.
The best response for us is to respect the mock charge, acknowledge it, not turn back, not look into the eyes and slowly back away.

@Israel70492823 @trigottista @Voiceofigbos @Amodaade @egbe_ntu This is very correct. And a very prominent person that many people talk about for like ever was his defence lawyer.
English

Oba Adeniran Atewogboye was the first Nigerian to be hanged for kidnapping and using a 15 months old baby for ritual in 1944.
The baby was found in his palace room without tongue and eyes.

@Justice_Crack Glad you're out. Meanwhile, there's nothing wrong with bringing down evil institutions. The Nigeria& its agencies are wired against us. They've continued the quest of colonialism in neocolonialism. It's only oppressive govts that go against their pple the way Nigeria does. Shame!

My dear Nigerians, colleagues in the media, critics, and everyone who lent their voice during this difficult period, I sincerely thank you all.
To everyone who spoke concerning my release, prayed for me, and demanded fairness, I will never take your concern and solidarity for granted. And even to those who disagreed with me or questioned my actions, I still appreciate your voices because democracy gives room for different opinions.
I also want to say clearly that my desire has never been to bring down any institution or create division. I respect the sacrifices of the men and women serving this country, just as I remain committed to speaking for ordinary Nigerians who dream of a better nation.
Since the matter is still before the court, I will avoid making statements that may interfere with the legal process. However, I remain confident in the rule of law and due process.
At this moment, my focus is not bitterness, blame, or conflict. My focus remains the Nigeria we all deserve — a Nigeria that works for everyone, where justice is fair, opportunities are equal, and where the child of nobody can truly become somebody without knowing anybody.
This experience has only strengthened my belief that Nigeria must continue to grow through dialogue, understanding, accountability, and unity.
Thank you once again to everyone who stood up in one way or another.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬 Justice can't be cracked

@AloyEjimakor So the rogue finally wrote something and called it a book? Yet he lied against all known evidence? What bravery!

The publication of Yakubu Gowon’s memoir has predictably reignited debates over the Nigerian Civil War. By claiming that Odumegwu Ojukwu "deliberately and effectively thwarted every effort" at peace, Gowon presents a false history.
While Ojukwu had adopted a principled posture, laying the blame entirely at his feet conveniently obscures Gowon’s own pivotal failures, most notably, his betrayal of the Aburi Accord and the execution of a war that left Nigeria profoundly fractured.
To be sure, Gowon’s narrative minimizes the reality that the federal government structurally sabotaged the best chance for a peaceful resolution. In January 1967, both leaders met in Aburi, Ghana, agreeing to a loose confederation to de-escalate tensions following the horrific 1966 anti-Igbo pogroms.
Upon returning to Lagos, Gowon succumbed to pressure from federal civil servants and British diplomats who feared a loss of central power. Gowon unilaterally issued Decree No. 8, which stripped the core elements of the Aburi agreement.
By reneging on this signed framework, Gowon destroyed political trust, leaving the Eastern Region isolated and handing Ojukwu the political capital to declare secession in good faith.
So, while Gowon successfully preserved Nigeria’s geographic borders by force, his administration failed to foster emotional or structural integration. Post-war economic policies—such as the controversial £20 flat-payout given to Biafran bank depositors regardless of their pre-war savings—deeply alienated the Igbo population, institutionalizing a sense of marginalization.
By prioritizing a military victory over a genuine political settlement, Gowon presided over a forced amalgamation. The persistent ethnic tensions and neo-Biafran agitations that convulse Nigeria today serve as living proof that the underlying structural defects of the federation were never resolved.
All in all, Gowon’s memoir reads less like an objective historical record and more like an effort to absolve his administration of its broken promises and strategic blunders. By placing the entire burden of failure on Ojukwu, Gowon dodges accountability for a war that saved the map but fractured the soul of the Nigeria forever.

Hello @YunusaTanko,
There is an argument before ECOWAS Community Court urging the Court to assume jurisdiction over electoral matters within its Member States as such falls within the principle of Self-determination since 04/09/24. Please use your good offices on it.
Thank you.

‘Probe alleged N800 billion FAAC diversion for campaign funding’, SERAP tells INEC
serap-nigeria.org/2026/05/17/pro…

English

@SERAPNigeria @inecnigeria I reached out to you in 2024 concerning my argument before the ECOWAS Community Court. We interacted through email and phone calls and you agreed on assigning a lawyer to push for the matter. You deliberately failed to carry out your own decision even after several reminders.
English

BREAKING: We’ve urged Professor Joash Amupitan, the Chairman of @inecnigeria , to promptly, thoroughly, impartially, independently, transparently and effectively investigate the allegations that governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) diverted N800 billion for political and campaign purposes.
We urged him to request full disclosure from the governors and APC regarding the alleged contributions made to any dedicated campaign fund, including the identity of donors and the lawful origin of funds, and to provide the details to our organization.
We also urged him to urgently collaborate with appropriate anticorruption and law enforcement agencies to enforce applicable sanctions where violations are identified, including prosecution, fines and forfeiture of any unlawful contributions.
These allegations raise serious concerns about political finance transparency, electoral fairness, and the constitutional right of Nigerians to participate freely in their own government.
The abuse of state resources for electoral advantage undermines democratic integrity and public trust. Fairness, transparency, and accountability in political or campaign finance are essential safeguards against corruption, state capture, and undue influence in democratic processes.
Opaque political financing remains a major entry point for corruption and a threat to democratic legitimacy. Nigerians deserve to know who funds the candidates or political parties of their choice and any sources of any such funding.

@Drweloveu It's neither the Federal nor the State? Is JAMB a private entity? Why cover up for the rogue govt? Don't you think that such wouldn't happen where there's a political will for merit? Imagine what would have happened if you hadn't the means to meet the Registrar? You're privilege!
English

1. My son, currently in 400 Level Medicine and Surgery scored 333 in JAMB but his name did not even APPEAR on the Admission List. I was later told by the Institution that, my son could be offered Micro Biology. I told the Registrar of the institution POINT BLANK that, "I have spent HUGELY (Several Millions of Naira) to get my Son to this Point of Entry (PoE) to become a Medical Doctor and not to become a Biology Teacher through her offer of Micro Biology. This Registrar was so MEAN. She simply told me, we are very sorry, Micro Biology is the BEST we can OFFER your son.
2. At this Juncture, I proceeded to JAMB Headquarters, Abuja to meet with Prof. Oloyede who swiftly asked for my son's JAMB details, punched these details into his laptop and everything concerning the university came up on his screen.
3. Prof. Oloyede said and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, please go back home and sleep with your two eyes closed. From what I am seeing on my screen, your son is No.3 on the List of Medicine and Surgery of this institution with a JAMB SCORE of 333 which comes behind two other JAMB scores of 348 & 334 respectively. Unfortunately, none of these chaps, including your Son (i.e JAMB Score 348, 334 and 333) made the Admission List"
4. Prof. Oloyede continued and I quote: "Dr. Muyiwa Kayode, in SANE countries, this Institution should have sent the College Driver with an official vehicle to go and fetch your son from Ekiti to campus having projected himself into the MERIT LIST of this Institution but unfortunately, the endemic corruption in these institutions will just not allow them to follow Due Process"
5. Right in my presence, Prof. Oloyede put a call through to the Vice Chancellor of this Institution, setting his phone on speaker and spoke angrily at the Vice Chancellor, lamenting on the endemic corruption under his nose as it concerns university admission. This Vice Chancellor apologized to Prof. Oloyede saying what has just happened must have been an ERROR of OVERSIGHT on the part of his Management Team & promised Prof. Oloyede that he will personally ensure the Error of Oversight is corrected.
6. Within 24 hrs of that conversation between Prof. Oloyede and the Vice Chancellor, my son checked the university's Admission Portal and discovered his name has been INCLUDED as Number Three on the admission list while the names of the other chaps that scored 348 & 334 also appeared on the admission list as Number One and Number Two respectively.
7. The good news in all of these is that, my son that would have been CRIMINALLY denied admission ab-initio now TOPS his class with a G.P.A of 4.85
This is neither Federal nor State government doing... Every sector of the economy in Nigeria is corrupt.

Dear Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. @OfficialBenKalu,
Yesterday, we visited the site of the “construction and furnishing of an ultra-modern conference and e-learning facility at Bende Secondary Grammar School, Bende, Abia State” captured in the 2024 FG budget.
Findings from govspend.ng show that N265.3m has already been paid to Muslac Techno Company Limited since December 2025.
However, the school informed us that they are completely unaware of the project. More troubling is the fact that despite the school having sufficient available land, the project was seen diverted from the original beneficiary to another community in Ọnụ Inyang, at an isolated location along the Bende-Ohafia express road.
At the time of our visit, no workers were found on site. The construction site already appears abandoned, with grasses gradually overtaking the structure on ground. For a project that has received such substantial payment for over six months, the level of work visible raises serious concerns about implementation, supervision, and value for public funds.
Kindly call on the @FmstNg, the implementing agency, and anti-graft agencies @officialEFCC and @icpcnigeria to investigate this project and provide the public with clear answers.
- Why was the project moved away from the beneficiary school?
- Who approved the relocation?
- What exactly justifies the N265.3m already paid?
Public projects must serve the communities they were budgeted for, not become another case of questionable execution and weak accountability.

Trump's delegation enters China under a digital lockdown — officials leave personal phones behind, carry stripped-down devices and temporary laptops, operating under the assumption that anything brought into the country could be compromised by one of the world's most aggressive cyber environments.
Even charging a phone becomes a security risk. Federal guidance warns against plugging into unknown USB ports, where compromised hardware can extract data or install malicious software — a tactic known as 'juice jacking.'
The precautions extend beyond government officials to executives from Apple, Boeing, Qualcomm and BlackRock traveling with the president.

U.S. Delegation in China is under strict “digital lockdown" 🇺🇸🇨🇳
The entire U.S. delegation, led by President Trump, has left their personal smartphones, laptops, and tablets at home.
Instead, officials, aides, and Secret Service personnel are using specially issued “clean” or burner devices with heavily restricted functionality and limited data access.
U.S. federal guidelines strictly prohibit plugging any equipment into unknown USB ports or local charging stations due to the high risk of malware or data theft.
Only verified government chargers and power banks are permitted.
American officials are operating on the assumption that every Wi-Fi network and electronic device in China is potentially compromised.
These extreme digital hygiene measures apply not only to government officials but also to the CEOs of major American corporations accompanying Trump.
China’s embassy spokesman Liu Pengyu has rejected all accusations of cyber espionage.

Its name, "Red Avadavat", derives from the city of Ahmedabad --> the major export hub for these birds during the colonial pet trade.
The red colour is not permanent & that is by design.
During breeding season, males turn vivid red with white spots to signal health and genetic fitness to females.
Once breeding season ends, the colour fades to a dull, brownish tone --> effective camouflage that keeps them hidden from predators.
The red is not produced internally. It comes entirely from carotenoid pigments obtained through the seeds these birds feed on. The pigments are deposited directly into the feathers --->you are what you eat.
In nature, every colour tells a story.
Nature is Amazing ☘️@AMAZlNGNATURE
Beautiful Strawberry Finch! Also known as the Red Avadavat, this tiny finch is famous for the male’s bright red plumage covered in white spots that resemble strawberry seeds. Native to South Asia, they usually travel in flocks and feed on seeds and insects.
