My generator has been giving me headaches today.
I've watched the technician spend hours testing one thing after another.
Then I realized...
Even experts don't always know the solution immediately.
They troubleshoot.
They eliminate possibilities.
They learn from each failed attempt.
Life is no different.
Stop beating yourself up because your first plan didn't work.
Every failed attempt is simply one less mistake you'll make tomorrow.
Keep going.

Von Gierke disease (Glycogen Storage Disease Type I).
Explanation:
Glucose-6-phosphatase is the enzyme responsible for the final step of glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis, converting glucose-6-phosphate → glucose in the liver and kidneys.
When this enzyme is deficient:
❌ The liver cannot release free glucose into the bloodstream.
📉 Severe fasting hypoglycemia occurs.
🏥 Glycogen accumulates in the liver and kidneys, causing hepatomegaly and renomegaly.
🧪 Other findings include:
Lactic acidosis
Hyperuricemia
Hypertriglyceridemia
Growth retardation
Mnemonic:
"Von Gierke = Glucose can't Get out."

@Silverback766 @MayraFlores4TX Your parents' experience is valid, but it's still one experience. It doesn't erase the experiences of others who have reported wrongful detention, mistreatment, or excessive force. We can respect law enforcement while also expecting transparency and accountability.
English

@MayraFlores4TX @Ucnation3 You have no firsthand experience with what ICE operations can mean for the people affected, yet you’re treating your parents’ story as if it disproves documented cases of ICE agents killing people. Individual experiences matter, but they don’t erase other people’s experiences
English

A few months ago, my parents were stopped by ICE and remained calm and respectful. They had no problem showing respect to law enforcement and were allowed to go home after answering their questions. It’s not that hard. Our agents want to go home to their families, too. Don’t fall for the left-leaning propaganda that is instilling hate in our country.

@PhilPggreen1 @DocPriyamMD I'm sorry to hear about your cousin.
Appendiceal cancers are uncommon, but they do occur. That's exactly why hospitals routinely send removed appendices for microscopic examination—to identify unexpected diseases that aren't obvious during surgery.
English

@Ucnation3 @DocPriyamMD Also cancerous. My cousin aged 57 died after his appendix metastasised & it was too late.
Friend 21 had her appendix removed & the results came back cancerous. Apparently it’s routine to check after removal.
BTW I am NOT a Dr or Medical practitioner.
English

@PhilPggreen1 @DocPriyamMD A good reminder that "rare" doesn't mean "impossible."
Routine pathology after an appendectomy is one reason unexpected conditions, including appendiceal tumors, can sometimes be detected early.

@Simply_Dilim Loyalty is essential, but a lasting marriage also needs communication, mutual respect, shared values, and intentional effort. Chemistry often deepens when those foundations are strong.
English

Yes. 100% loyalty is one of the strongest foundations of a lasting marriage.
I'll take the risk with the hope that as we grow old together, we'll spark up the chemistry needed...

Would you marry someone with zero chemistry but 100% loyalty?

Appendix
For many years, the appendix was thought to be a useless vestigial organ. Research now suggests it may serve as a "safe house" for beneficial gut bacteria. After severe diarrhea or certain intestinal infections, these bacteria may help repopulate the gut microbiome.
The appendix also contains lymphoid tissue, meaning it plays a role in the immune system, particularly early in life.
That said, you can live a healthy life without an appendix. When it becomes inflamed (appendicitis), surgical removal is still the standard and often life-saving treatment.
Dr. Priyam Bordoloi@DocPriyamMD
We were taught this organ was completely useless, just a ticking time bomb waiting to get infected and surgically removed. But science now shows it actually acts as a secret "safe house" for your body. Which organ is it? A) Gallbladder B) Tonsils C) Appendix D) Spleen
English

Most people guess alcohol.
Globally, chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C remain among the leading causes of liver cirrhosis, especially in many low- and middle-income countries. In higher-income countries, alcohol-related liver disease and metabolic dysfunction–associated fatty liver disease (linked to obesity and diabetes) are also major contributors.
The good news? Many cases are preventable through hepatitis B vaccination, hepatitis testing and treatment, limiting alcohol, and maintaining a healthy weight.

Some people reject facts not because they're false, but because they challenge beliefs they've held for years.
In a democracy, the opposition is not the enemy of the state—it is an essential part of good governance.
Political thinkers such as John Stuart Mill argued that competing ideas help expose errors, improve public policy, and keep those in power accountable. Modern research has also found that competitive political systems are often associated with stronger institutions and better governance outcomes.
A government without effective scrutiny is more likely to become complacent. A strong opposition questions decisions, proposes alternatives, and gives citizens meaningful choices.
You don't have to support Peter Obi to acknowledge this principle. The same protection should apply to every legitimate opposition leader, regardless of party.
Democracy is strongest when governments welcome accountability, not when they treat criticism as hostility. 🇳🇬
English

Some of you reject truth and facts because you've become so used to certain beliefs or practices that it's difficult to see things from a different perspective.
It's "does not make sense" because Some of you are so used to thinking everybody is so dark in spirit and clouded in hate. No he's saying the fact!
In democratic theory, from thinkers like John Stuart Mill to modern political scientists, a robust opposition is not an "enemy" but a vital mechanism for accountability, innovation in policy, and error correction; suppressing it risks echo chambers and governance failures, as evidenced by cross national studies linking multi party competition to better human development indices.
Peter Obi’s statement aligns with core democratic principles, where a strong opposition provides essential checks and balances, prevents authoritarianism, and ensures diverse ideas improve governance rather than one party dominating.
Arojinle@arojinle1
This does not even make any sense. Who arms and strengthens their enemies?

@FabrizioRomano Talent was never the question.
Playing time is. If he gets that in Turkey, this transfer could be the making of him. 💪🇹🇷
