Re all this blah from Reform re Farage's security. I am a bit confused. Wasn't the 5 million gift towards that? I am sure he said it was. And also, why did he turn down state security if he doesn't feel safe? Things just don't add up. I don't understand why there is all of this faux outrage from all Reformers when he has security and when he was offered it but refused it. What exactly does he want regarding security?

Death threats against any politician are completely unacceptable, whether they're aimed at Nigel Farage, Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch, Ed Davey or anyone else.
Most parties don't constantly amplify them because they don't want to give the people making them the attention they crave.
That's why it's frustrating when anyone acts as though they're uniquely targeted.
The issue is political violence itself, not who can make the biggest story out of it.

Think it's worth repeating. Zia Yusuf claimed no state support was being offered to Reform MPs for protection. In reality, Nigel Farage was offered a car, a trained driver, a bodyguard, and security on a similar level to that offered Kemi Badenoch. That's quite the deception.

@RobertJenrick @BornToReform Absolutely shameful. Rightly, people were encouraged not to speculate by the police. Farage ignored that. Not some conspiracy - just common sense to let the investigation take its course. Farage couldn’t wait a few days and jumped the gun purely to gain political capital.

@ZiaYusufUK @doveyymargeauxx Right on cue, dear Ann’s murder is all about Farage. Threats of any kind are deplorable and I can find examples of such tweets about people of all politics/persuasions. The Farage victim narrative is disrespectful to all those affected and I suspect a Clacton deflection strategy.

As we learn Ann’s murder WAS politically motivated, The Times has revealed the scale of the threat to Nigel’s life.
Nigel has received 1,577 threats since February this year.
Including 597 death threats.
The most persistent individual targeting Farage sent 6 directed threats to him on Facebook between June 24 and July 6, including a message telling him to “get the f*** out of Wales before I just kill Nigel Farage … you can die at any f***ing moment.”
Another individual posted on X last month saying: “Execute the striking Traitor Nigel Farage. TODAY,” followed by two further escalating posts within eight hours.
A third individual wrote on X: “Can someone shoot Nigel Farage? Make him a self-fulfilling prophecy?”
All the ‘journalists’ and MPs who attack him for accepting a gift to fund his security should hang their heads in shame.
The government still provides him with no security.
They did for a short while after the general election. Then - astonishingly - they cut it by 75% within weeks of the assassination of Charlie Kirk and sent David Lammy out to say Nigel “flirted with the Hitler Youth”.
Reform stepped in to provide him with a detail of the original size, appropriate to the enormous threat.
The establishment doesn’t want Nigel to have the required security for a reason.
They incite violence against him for a reason.
It’s exactly what it looks like.

@UkReason Oh do piss off. It was the Conservatives who raised the tax burden to begin with. A never ending stream of immigrants, sky high benefit bill, our military reduced to the bare minimum, a failing NHS, education standards dropping, no prison space.

It sounds increasingly clear that Andy Burnham is planning another inheritance tax raid. All his team are willing to say is they won’t be hiking inheritance tax ‘in July’. If they cannot rule out more tax rises, we are in for another summer of damaging speculation as families and businesses worry about where the next tax raid will hit at the Budget. Instead of raising taxes, Burnham should be getting a grip of the welfare bill so we can get taxes down. That is what the @Conservatives will do.
