Climate changes have led to some communities facing acute drought conditions in the north/ northeast of Kenya. Kenya Red Cross #KRCS and #IFRC membership witnessed the situation first hand. Water, nutrition and health are key critical requirements which need to be scaled up.

I was very pleased and privileged to have the Karhmandu #Nepal Chief Administrator (CDO), Mr Jaya Narayan Acharya, visiting me again today at the IFRC Office. We had great discussions as usual and an opportunity for me to update the work of #IFRC and membership.

It’s nearly a month since the major floods gutted the Kathmandu valley and its neighbouring districts. To date, over 10,000 households have received relief supplies, psychological first aid, hygiene education and over 500 families receiving cash grants from NRCS #IFRC
