Restricting entertainment can lead to the decline of culture. My work, Digital Devil Story, was stocked in many school libraries across Japan. However, it contains expressions that would violate CCA standards, and it likely would have been censored in U.S. school libraries in 1950s. I was able to write exactly what I wanted because my editors at Tokuma Shoten at the time believed in the importance of breaking through regulations. In that regard, I am truly grateful to Tokuma Shoten.
