💥 I used to only do these 3D renders for documentation. But lately, these little 3D walk-arounds are helping catch real mistakes. For example, this new board I'm working on had 3 diodes mistakenly marked "do not place." Very easy to spot when it's all laid out in front of you!

@Write4Republic I'm pretty sure it was a near-unilateral algo decision. I was already trying to practice my Japanese regardless. But the fact that X can completely alter all manner of speech, communication, information, and dissemination at the touch of the button is truly troubling.

We need to bring back Japanese X.

In this case, the solution was to remove the J6 symbol, replace it with the Odd_Even style, assign it same footprint as the original, and then "Update PCB from Schematic" (the F8 key) in the #KiCad #PCB viewer.

There are many possible numbering patterns, such as: - "Top_Bottom" (shown on the left) - "Odd_Even" (mirrored and shown on the right) - "Counter_Clockwise" (the pin order of ICs and vacuum tubes)

📌 Here's a classic, yet avoidable layout mistake to watch for! When pairing multi-row connectors symbols with a footprint, make sure the numbering pattern matches your expectations.

I just launched a field programmable gate array (#FPGA) based side project after being out of the loop on these devices for many years. I think even if things so well, it might be late June before I have a semi-working model.

@the_transit_guy I'm not saying "no" but I'd rather have a Dallas-Austin-San Antonio route. A Hitachi 700 series train (Japan's famous bullet train) could probably cover the route in 2 ½ hours.
